Megs Foam Applicators at Wal*Mart -- GONE?

I just check one of my local Walmarts and they were all sold out....:nervous: Looks like I will be checking others in the area.

Man, I'm surprised this thread is still going. Did this product really deserve 4 pages of responses? Most of us didn't even seem to care about it when Walmart carried it in the store, but now that it seems to be gone there's this big search for it as if it was some miracle product. It's just a cheap foam pad people! I don't remember anything special about it, other than it was "stamped" with the Meguiar's logo. And if you loved the product so much, like others have mentioned they were able to still buy it from Kragens. If you're in SoCal, I know Super Autobacs carries it as well. Worst comes to worst, you'll have to wait until you place your next online order so shipping won't be killer.

Some of you guys are shopaholics, as if you're preparing for some end of detailing days. I can't wait to see how many responses we'll get when AutoZone no longer carries Eagle One's tire swipes.

What?!?! No more tire swipes??? Seriously, don't you think the "hoarding" is just another OCD-type symptom related to the general detailing OCD here?

The reason we like them are because they're cheap... I don't have to pay a lot of shipping just to get some pads. I was about to buy them, until WAlly world decided otherwise.

I think some foam pads from Autogeek are $2.79 for two (!!) when I bought it. I think the Wal-Mart price last time the product was there was something like $1.68. So compare that, and don't forget that with autogeek you'll also have to pay for UPS shipping, so add at least another $5-$6. So expensive for just some simple foam pads.

Things shouldn't be more than $.50 a pop, but then again, retailers make a killing off simple items when people think they have nowhere else to buy it from. Case in point: Best Buy convincing customers they have to spend $45 on some stupid gold plated USB cable for their new printer, when I get the same exact thing from NewEgg.com for maybe about $5 + $2 shipping. See how it works?

I am actually glad to see that this thread has seen 4 pages worth of responses so far. I could buy them online, but it gets to be very pricey after it's all said and done. Since I used to buy them for $1.68 at Wal*Mart, I'm slightly upset they stopped carrying them.

And I agree with Setec. The "hoarding" is absolutely due to the fact that we're all completely OCD when it comes to detailing and our supplies.

I have a package on the way from an AG friend with about 10 packets of the pads. I'm going to Seattle this weekend and I'll be stopping by a few Kragens to pick them up.

It would make more "sense" to just order them online and pay for the shipping. But that just wouldn't be very much fun.
