there really isn't a wrong or right way to cut the apc for pad cleaning. It really all depends on how soiled the pads are. I use Meguairs APC (Green) or even Purple Power generally cut about 10:1
once i am done for sure with a pad on a job site i spray the pad with apc
brush the pad either with a tooth brush or finger
blast pad with a nice stream of water to remove deeper stuff (rinse until water is clear)
allow pad to air dry
if the pad still has some residue left i repeat the process. Sometimes your pad might get stained sometimes it will come 100% clean (stain free)
i hope that helps. You can mix your apc a little stronger as needed or just make a small bottle of one that is maybe 6:1 and use it specifically for pad cleaning.
