Megs backing plate "button"

anyone who uses a Megs rotary backing plate is aware of their protruding button for centering pads. I've used this backing plate in conjunction with a Megs pad but the pad doesn't quite feel flat during use. I decided to take a penknife and cut around the center of the pad about 1/4 inch deep. This allows the button to indent the center plug-a nice side affect is that the pad is easier to center.

The button unscrews counter clockwise-put the button into a vise and turn the backing plate - walla

The button also comes from the factory with a pretty sharp edge. I rounded it over a little with a file to reduce the risk of cutting through the foam when compressed.
