Megs 5 inch miocrofiber buffing pads...

Not sure, I do want some more Cutting pads after trying the one you sent me and I may pick up a pack and get back with you. I did a few panels with 105/300/101 in different combos and founds it very effective, especially with the Megs pad.

Awesome, glad to hear you're getting good results! I'll stop at one of the AZ stores here when I'm out tomorrow and see if they're carrying them as well. I have a bunch of them already but it would be great to know that a local source exists if I'm ever in a pinch.

I'm surprised to see them sold at Walmart!!!???

I'm thrilled to see them sold at Walmart, along with #105/205 and #300. My local Meguiars distributor is in a part of Dallas that is a major PITA to get to.

HOLY SMOKES !!! I know a couple autozones around here sell 105 and 205 but I will have to check for the pads again. and I would be in happier than a kid on chiristmas if they had that stuff at my local wal mart!

Fortunately, I have 3 or 4 Walmarts here that carry a large portion of the Megs Pro line including the polisher, MF and foam pads, 105/205, and D300. They even have Megs carbon fiber wrap and tint I think lol ... Basically I no longer need to order Megs products online. Oh yeah, they're also much cheaper than any online retailer I've seen.

Wal Mart is going to put everyone out of business! They already put gun stores out of business because they sell ammo cheaper than the gun stores can buy it wholesale and same with small mom and pop stores... It's a shame. Anyways, will these Megs MF pads work on a rotary or just DA? I use Optimum ones now but have separation issues with some of them STILL! I used to have nothing but separation issues and at first was told I am the only one reporting these problems. Then I see they admitted it was an issue and fixed it, but I still had problems with the new batches here and there. A couple that I have are fine but it's a hit and miss with Optimum and I'm tired of dealing with it. Sure I can mail them back and get replacements but when running a shop full time and working all the time, I do not have the time to ship stuff back and wait for replacements and have to pay for shipping on top of it all! I love Optimum products, just not happy with their MF pads so have been considering Megs MF line as long as it will work with rotary and I can still use my hyper spray polish and compound.

My Meguiars distributor shouldn't have moved to such an in-accessible location. Just not worth the drive if I can go to Walmart and get everything cheaper. That helps keep my costs a bit less and saves me time and gas.

Both Optimum polishes work well with the Meguiars cutting pad, but you can't use the Meguiars pads with a rotary and they don't hold up as well as the Optimum pads (other than that batch of Optimum pads with glue issues). But the Meguiars cutting pad is more aggressive than the Optimum cutting pad. I keep both brands pads on hand.

Concur about megs pads being stronger than Optimum pads

I love compressed air. use it to blow out the gunk from the pad and fluff up the fibres again after each section I work, not after each panel

Am no longer using the opt cutting MF's due to the glue issues but also because the foam backing is too thick (too much cushioning) which I have found to reduce the performance of the forced rotation and random orbital actions of the Dynabrade 61385 power head and an RO with 3 and 6mm orbit throw

the OPT polishing pads on the very thin very hard makita bo6030 backing plate which is attached to the dynabrade, do have some balls to remove medium level damage and maybe a little more

So now we have Lake country pads, Optimum, Meguiars and Flexipads microfibre pads. Geez

I rank the MF pads as mid range in terms of cutting power with the denim and rayon the strongest I have

I just bought two 2 packs of the new lake country pads. Will post a review once I try them out next week.
