Meg #80 vs VM

Deep scratch guy.
Hiya,

Which one has more abrasive cleaner power, wetness,ez to buff/wipe off, etc?

How's these 2 glaze compare with each other?

Depends to me if by doing by hand or PC. By hand #80 is a PITA to remove. VM by hand is easy as hell to remove. I believe #80 is more abrasive. Both give an excellent shine to the paint.

I used #80 in the pass with PC n rotary. I recalled, my very 1st time, I applied too much #80 on a 2x2 panel and was biatch to come off. So, now I'm almost out of #80. I might try out VM.

I have the new version of Vanilla Moose (the thinners have been tweaked) and it seems to have more cutting power than it did before. I was able to get hard water stains out of the hood of a black BMW using VM v.2 and a few slow passes with the PC on 6. I don't know if using less apparent oils in this version of VM allows the light abrasives to do more work or what, but I was very impressed. I'd say this version is a tad more aggressive than #80 and the finish it leaves is absolutely stunning. It now dusts a very slight bit when you work it in on 6 but nothing that isn't easy to deal with-plus it seems to wipe off even easier than the old VM. Availability? Not sure but I know Everett is really high on this new version so it should be out soon.

The current version of VM is just a bit less aggressive than #80 and is easier to use. Both leave a very wet looking finish, VM is more slick, #80 is more squeaking clean.

I found that out too the first time. You know you are using the right amount of #80 and working it long enough when it wipes off with little effort.

VM2? wow I cant wait. Anyway I just ordered my 16oz of V-Moose. I have RMG as well, man it does look good on darker cars. Anyways thanks for the help guys :xyxthumbs

Can you use VM under most sealants? TIA

Seems to work fine with EX-P but I think it has too many oils to work under Zaino or Klasse SG without a 50/50 wipedown. The new version I have seems to have less oils but makes the paint look wetter, however, I don't know how sealants would work with it either.

Yeah me too, I havent try RMG over sealant yet. Most of time I RMG it and then top it w/PB Blue.

RMG has more oil than VM?

Then they've really upped the cutting power of VM - going from about a 2 (#9) to over 4 (#80).

I asked Everett about that and he says he hasn't increased the abrasive content. I think the different carriers may have something to do with it. Maybe less oil content allows the light abrasives to work better?
