Me washing my car

I was being a bit flip when I made the comment about the absorber. I know many people use it but MicroFiber Waffle Weave seems to be the common drying mechanism these days.

I was trying to warn sushifest that no matter what he wrote to explain his actions, somebody was going to find something else wrong with it.

BTW...Welcome to Autopia! ;)

The absorber is bad because of what CAN happen.. just like the water blade... if used carefully and properly it does no harm. But everyone tends to get slopping every now and again and I would rather get sloppign with a MF than a absorber or blade.

enjoy the car! looks like a lot of fun.

Can I also ask why the Absorber is bad? Please explain...

when you wipe you car's finish with the absorber, you have to be careful there isn't any dirt on the paint's finish, otherwise you will drag the dirt around scratching the finish as there is no nap in the absorber to absorb it. that's why many on here prefer a waffle weave or microfiber drying towel for that task. go to you local walmart and go to the kitchen towel section and pick up a 2pk of the small waffle weave towels and compare and see what you prefer...

If I slap the absorber on instead of wiping, then it wont be any problem, right?

What you do with the absorber on your spare time is your prerogative. Maybe you should ask the absorber if it has a problem with being slapped. :p :chuckle: (sorry I just had to)
