McKees 914 Rinseless for Interiors

Background:

1. I HATE doing interiors almost as much as doing windows.
2. Dog rides in both of these vehicles a lot. From dog parks, doggie day care, dog beach. She loves to dig and roll around.
3. Jen has 2 kids that frequently eat in cars. Love sticky gooey stuff.
4. This is FL, I ride with window open most f the time with a/c going full. So tons of stuff dust/sand/sometimes rain etc.
5. I take frequent "breathing treatments" while driving....... Only with window open.
6. I drink coffee, lots of coffee
7. Jen has a shop over 1 hr away, so she has breakfast in car, sometimes dog sneakily partakes.
8. The interior of Jen`s car hasn`t been touched since summer.
9. My car is 4 months (?) now has 8500 miles and hadn`t been touched.

10.... I did these with 3 gal/water 2 oz McKee`s rinseless wash, by mitt, then dried..... I left Jen`s a little wet to see if it streaked or left water marks.

No before pics, but all afters


Jen`s is 2 or 3 days after it was done. Mine was just done.

Cool! I would never have thought about using a RW for the interior. Thanks for the idea.

Are those vertical streaks on the passenger`s side dash or something else? Maybe little girls heal marks??

On Jen`s I did it pretty heavy to get all the dried on "crud" off......... :redface: (that`s why it looks damp in tone of the seat shots)

Mine depended on what I was trying to get off. But damp for the most part.

so what made you decide to try RW there? I figured you had an assortment of interior stuff as well. assuming you could find it in the garage haha

was this a `had some left from the bucket` kind of thing?

Jen`s was a MESS, and yes I had some left over for hers. Liked it so much on hers I did it on Tahoe.

If your truck has dried dog drool, gooey sugary syrup, caked cereal, mud etc, it`ll work great !!!

I`m serious, hes was a mess

I checked out a facility about 3 years back......this place had a machine that blew bacon flavored bubbles, floating raised floor -- where stuff that went past the flooring material was rinsed away, etc. It was insane to say the least..

I know that Ivan from the Optimum Forum uses ONR as his go-to interior cleaner, but other than that and Opti-Clean, I`ve refrained from using a product designed as an Exterior Rinseless or Waterless on my interior. Nice to know McKee`s works well.

Nothing wrong with that.
I use Opti Clean regularly as a maintenance product on all non-cloth interior surfaces for the opposite reason. It not only cleans, but adds a bit of protection.

Cleaning power with out having to go apc strong. I love a damp Waterless wash or rinseless wash towel for quick wipe downs and dusting. I love the dedicated interior detailers but they are 3-10 more times more expensive then a concentrated exterior product.

My biggest OCD peeve is a clean-almost too clean steering wheel..
Would you say using said cleaner might be far superior due to it`s cleaning ability than......water wipedowns, and or a mix of super duper lite interior cleaner (aka, 1Z Cockpit) for steering wheel cleaning.

I duuno what the long term effect would it have in leather though...

I`ve used ONR and D114 ALOT for just fingerprint slightly dirty interiors. Feels like you are doing it "greener" than using APC followed by dressing.

Saw the Response. My interiors are fairly clean and maintained. I think I’m sticking with my H20, Cockpit and errr, Deep Plastic, until I work up the cajones to experiment with RW/WW so I will actually get more use out of said product.

Still interesting on the whole encapsulating thing for dirt on the interiors.
In the QD Bird Bomb Ratio, this stuff does leave the surface slick. Not sure how much or not I would want that on certain surfaces..

mobiledynamics- Yeah, that "on certain surfaces" reminds me of how that Leather Doctor stuff I like comes in a "grabby" variation for interior leather surfaces that ya don`t want too slick (no, it`s not "sticky" or othewise objectionable, just not hands-slip-off slick)
