MB Tex cleaning ...

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Detailing MB-Tex.

Older Mercedes Benz Interiors from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s were commonly available in a very durable leatherette/vinyl known as MB-Tex. This material looks and feels very much like leather, but it is much more durable and it is much easier to clean. These pictures are taken of the same car (1973 450 SE) after a complete interior detailing, and then photographed in much better lighting. The seats were cleaned with a simple solution of Meguiars ACP diluted 10:1 and a lot of scrubbing and about a dozen or so heavily soiled rags. Obviously the carpets were also cleaned and extracted, as well as a thorough clean and dress of the dash and console. The interior was in exceptional condition for its age, but had a layer of 35 plus years of grime from usage without the benefit of a thorough detailing.

Imagine paying extra for leather ?

I am a huge fan of MB Tex.

they brought mbtex back, right? I know I'd rather have cloth, but it's a great alternative to leather. I don't find leather very luxurious.

farero,

Save your Leatherique pristine clean at $20 for 32 oz. for fine leather. The diluted Megiuars APC will cost much less and does a great job on Tex. You do not need a boutique product on vinyl.
