Maybe I'm an idiot...

I never used the gem to do defect removal. Just to apply wax and remove it. We would use terry bonnets on them. The backing was made of a plastic type of foam fairly stiff. I thought I was High tech. We didn't even have MF towels. We would buy bulk baby diapers from a local diaper service company. Just think this was 15 years ago. seams like yeasterday. The first car i can really remember detailing with a rotary was a 82 carrera red ss paint. The lady sent me a letter telling me how great a job I did.

Sorry for the trip down memory lane.

This has been said many, many times before, but I will say it again. For those of us who do not detail for a living (hence not insured), or just do it on the weekends for a little extra cash, or simply do not have the time to spend countless hours learning the rotary, the Flex is the best tool around. It has cut down my polishing time in half, does not vibrate my hands to death, and I don't have to be worry about burning through somebody's car paint when using it. The extra cost is a small price to pay for the reasons above. It is a great machine.

To the dynabride users......how are the vibrations? Wondering if that setup is low on vibrations like the flex or pain in the arms like PC @6.

I would LOVE to see a side by side comparison of the cutting power/speed of the Flex DA vs. Rotary + Dynabride
