Matte Finish Help

This is kind of an odd question, but hopefully someone here can help me with it. I have an Arai helmet finished in a somewhat matte paint (frost black). I have a few scuffs on it, from everyday use, that I'd like to get rid of to help keep it looking in good condition (paint intact and smooth, just hazed over). I also have a few spots of high wear (rubbing with colar, etc) where the paint actually appears to be glossy now, instead of matte. I know I can't use a typical polishing compound as it will "shine" up the finish, so I'm not really sure what to do. Any suggestions for either of these problems? Thanks.

Swissvax makes some products for matte finishes.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, given the price of Swissvax, it would make more sense to buy a new helmet than to purchase their line.

The scuffs I'm not so worried about, since their all rather small, it's more the high gloss areas from wear that I'd like to correct. Is there any kind of buffing / scuffing compound?

Magic erasers (i.e. Mr. Clean) usually give a matte effect. There also special matting compounds, although because of their aggressiveness they may not produce a surface which is fine enough for this purpose/correction.
