Matte black exhaust tips, what to use?

What's good for use on matte black metal? Been using Mothers "Back to Black" on my Z28's exhause tips which gives a nice rich matte black finish but doesn't last too long.
 
Are they painted with a flat paint? or how?



If flat paint and fairly smooth I would experiment with tons of stuff. 303 or other PDMS rubber/vinyl dressing....but this might not work because of the heat huh......probably smoke.....but heck your back to black must not smoke huh???



Maybe even try a cheapo wax or QD.....



I dunno but it could be fun experimenting though.

I have tried several things as well. I wanted to use something like EO tire dressing, but it does say combustible on it. I last used TW 2001 foam tire dressing. Left it a nice dull wet matte looking finish and lasted a while.
