matt interior dressings

For a Matte Finish, Adam's VRT is at the top of my list.

I haven't gotten to experiment really with PB NL. I also like 1Z Cockpit Premium and 303.

FWIW, this is with Pinnacle's Vinyl and Rubber Protectant. Wolfgang looks identical, but does not leave a bubble gum smell behind. Everything but the leather seats is dressed with the Pinnacle.

Could you guys please comment on the texture left behind by each of these products? I am looking to recreate the factory finish on the dash of my 1997 car, not only with the matte finish, but also preferably with that grippy/tacky/rough/amost rubbery texture.

Do any of these products approach that? Obviously, I'd prefer not to have a slick/slippery texture left behind even though there is a matte look.

thanks!

If you can get Meguiars products; try "Meguiar's Natural Shine" which has a nice matt finish to it. Just spray into a towel, apply onto surface, work it a little, and then buff with a MF.

I'm not sure what kind of car you have, but my findings were the exact opposite. "Natural Shine" looked like I applied vaseline to my dash and it wouldn't buff out - had to remove it with a cleaner. One use was enough...I gave it to a friend who loves it because it makes his dash glossy.

I would give a vote to 303 Protectant. It offers a high level of protection from a company that is well respected and the matte finish you can control by the amount you use and/or the buffing after application. Most products I know of (not all) can usually be buffed to a Matte finish, but I use 303 since i know it offers pretty good protection.

I have a Toyota 4Runner, and if your saturating your applicator with it, it will turn shiney. If you use a less, say a quick spray (into a terry towel), and wipe on, it stays kinda matte. I spritz my towel, then work it over a large area. I've found this true of most of the dressings i've tried, the more you use, the shinier it gets.

303 is definitely slippery. Same for Vinylex and Megs NXT Protectant. I use the later two products to reduce squeaks from the rubber gaskets around the sunroof and doors. Gets them nice and slippery as well as clean.

Hmm...I don't find 303 that slippery. Maybe it depends on how much you buff off. Also, may be that I am not using it on my seats.
