Maserati G.T. coated with C1 by AutoLavish (featuring Steven Pham)

Great Job! I love reading youralls writeups. All of the work you do it top notch.

I saw you using a toothbrush to clean the key hole and having to take extra caution to make sure you didnt hit the paint with the brush. I thought Id post this for everyone. This might make life a little easier.

My mom is a dental hygenist and has a ton of these brushes thus the only reason I know that they exist.

Again great job!

Outstanding work as always guys, I love reading your write-ups. Your 50/50 shots really magnify how dull the finish was before you guys made it right.

Thanks a lot Kody. With a color like this, the biggest difference always seems to be clarity. After everything, you get to see how the car is supposed to look. The owner was thrilled.

Marc,
Once again, you and Jacob kicked a tough job in the teeth, and came out with outstanding results. Your details and write-ups are always such a pleasure to look at, and also very informative.
I do have one question though. I have never seen anyone use KAIO on interior windows. What does it do for the windows?
Thanks again for the great write-up.

Always appreciated! KAIO can be great for windows because it truly removes all dirt/grime from the window and wipes clean. Additionally, it can make windows faster to clean in the future.

Great writeup Marc from the work itself which is outstanding to those final professional shots, very enjoyable.

Much appreciated from one of my favorite detailers. Thanks a lot David and I look forward to seeing what you have coming up next!

Great work guys.
Always a pleasure reading your writeups.

That really means a lot. We work hard to put out enjoyable threads that give insight to the work we do, and work hard to show case some of the vehicles we work on.

Great work guys!

Love the pics as well.

I'll be using Cquartz on Wed after a full correction.

They say to do a wipe down with 90% IPA and 10% dawn. I'm thinking of approx 1oz of dawn and 2oz of megs hyper wash with foam lance and then a IPA wipe down. Comments?

Great job on the car and almost equally on the photo shoot. Both were a pleasure to watch.

Can you let me know what the 2 step products/pads/machines and speeds you used were? I am always curious since I have had my issues getting black to look like this job came out and I am always looking to learn or pick up a hint.

Thanks for sharing this job.

Jeff

Another phenomenal job by Marc and Jacob on a beauty! Thanks for the KAIO tip for the windows as I have only used it on the outside before :White Horse:

Thanks for the kind words Jeff. I believe we used Meguiar's 205 + a white LC 5.5 inch pad + 3M yellow foam backing plate on the Makita followed by Menzerna 106ff + a black LC 5.5 inch pad + 3M grey foam backing plate on the Makita. I was surprised at the clarity of the paint and how well 205 on white removed defects.
Hope this helps and sorry for the delay :)

Much appreciated. KAIO on windows is amazing at not only cleaning, but helping to resist dirt / finger prints in the future. I think you'll like it ;)

This is the first time I think I've seen this C1 stuff. Can you tell me some more about it?

It's basically a competitor in the new field of "coatings" which are supposed to have greater durability and even some scratch protection. The three I know of (and therefor have) are CQuartz, Optimum Opti-Coat, and GTechniq C1.
We're still working to test how all three hold up to various things, so I can't speak much on their qualities.

Sweet car! Thanks for another great post. I really enjoy reading your write-ups. I have a small question for you. In the below pic, what is your process after applying the Meg's dressing? The engine compartment came out looking sweet!

Great Work. I was a bit surprised that you were able to successfully remove a good bit of defects with the M205+white pad. Did you allow the engine dressing to simply set in or did you do a mild wipe down?

On that section (in which Meg's Hyper Dressing was used) it was simply sprayed on and allowed to dry. Any area that residue remained was gently wiped. Water based dressing like this are nice as you they tend to dry easily.

I was too, not to mention I was also thankful. The test section showed great results in just two simple steps with a great deal of clarity which was perfect for this client.
The engine compartment cover was wiped down with 303 Aerospace Protectant while the area around the engine itself was allowed to dry. The difference in materials and the location of the engine itself is the reason we used two products.
