market research on jack

Hey guys,

First I will introduce myself, I am conducting market research on a new car cleaning product. I have been tasked with conducting online surveys to gain the opinions of the potential target market. The product claims to do a lot, and even though we have several 'experts' claiming the same, I always know the best feedback is from industry forums. I have had great success from previous forum posts where I learn a lot about the industry and the products themselves.

Enough marketing talk, I am really here to find out whether this product has any validity to it.

I got a bottle of the product and I am not experienced in cleaning my car (to be honest I wash it once every 2 months with soap - so please don't judge :) ). Luckily the product seems to be a spray and wipe, so I got several micro fiber cloths, and hopefully that will get the job done

I will post pictures of my own use on the product and would like your feedback. I have also been given a promotional code for orders, since it is against forum rules I won't be posting it on the forum, but if you are interested in further helping please send me a pm.

This is my maxima, it has 350k on the body so don't be harsh. I just used it on the passenger door and the backside of the car.

The goals of this product is that:

- It will clean your cars exterior

- Leave a protective low energy surface energy that will resist dust, dirt, and grime for up 2 months (depending where you drive, average is 1month) It says that all I have to do is take a dry micro-fiber cloth and wipe it down each day. It should remove everything and leave a similar shine as the first time I cleaned it.

- The shine after should rival that of professional waxing or polishing.

The results:

- Seems to have cleaned the surface to me.

- Will be testing over the next month.

- Need your input.

Your feedback on the results would be appreciated, let me know anything you guys require!

p.s. I most likely will post on several forums, so you might see me in different places.

Also, I don't want to break any forum rules, so if this post is breaking any rules let me know and I will edit it.

Thanks

Hi marketingtom,

I'm familiar with the field. You might want to check in with the admins and mods about your plans and be sure everything's kosher here lest it be considered a type of spam. Otherwise, welcome and hope the study goes well.

Hey Shiny and Bill,

My post isn't spam, and to my knowledge they haven't begun spamming yet :)

I am an independent sales consultant that is doing research on this product. Like I said I am not including any links or anything to the product on the forum. I am not here promoting it, I am in the product review section hoping to get honest opinions of this product.

I do apologize if my post came off as spam, or if there were any previous posts containing spam.

Also Charles,

I just checked out your website and it seems that you have a lot experience in detailing. I come to forums to mainly ask individuals like yourself the opinion of a new product, and I hold your opinions very high since I know that it is unbiased.

I would definitely appreciate your feedback, and since you do car detailing for a living providing your opinion on what you look for in a cleaner, etc, will help me weed out the bad products. I provide honest feedback to large marketing firms that look for long-term products, and it is my job to make sure they don't waste time and money on 'crappy' products that do not appeal to the target market.

P.S. Let me know if I am breaking any forum rules for I will fix them.

Tom
