Marauder (Black) Detail

Not bat stuff for pro detailers, i used their cream wax once it was very easy to use and it gave a good shine, they have a big facility in cincinnati.

I use a carnuba from Pro called Pro Gold, GREAT shine and depth, sometimes streaks depending on humidity, and doesnt last maybe a month. I use their carpet dyes, Premo interior dressing, Glosso water based dressing wax on engines, Pro shine which is a aerosol dressing for vents, great stuff in my opinion, clear cut compound, trouble shooter polish, and Im sure more stuff I cant remember. The reason I have mainly used Pro for years is 1. If you dont like a product, the distributor will swap out or refund your money, no questions asked, he comes EVERY tuesday,, has come to my house on a weekend, with his supply truck, and helped me correct different issues when I got started, for FREE, some of their stuff is a little high, but they seem to be professional grade products. I am NOT a salesman for Pro wax. Good luck. Jason

I was contacted by the owner of the Marauder a few months back asking about getting some correction done. He brought the car over to get an estimate and so I could take a look at what I was going to be working with. After a little bit we worked out our schedules and got the car in for the correction work.

I started out with the normal paint prep wash. I foamed it with OPC 2-3 times to help get rid of any wax or oils on the paint. Steve (the owner) keeps it very very clean, so clean I felt like I was getting it dirtier by actually washing it.

Once I was done with the paint prep wash I dried with a guzzler and used a blower to get water out of the cracks.

Paint correction products:
Flex 3401 speed 4
Menz 203 w/ uber green pad
Menz 106ff w/ uber green pad
Brinkman Dual xenon

Now that the car was washed and ready to get polished here are some pics of what I was working on. There was some filling from QD?s and probably the previous detailer. You will see some rotary holograms left behind.

Now the corrected paint. I didn?t get 50/50s for two reasons. 1 I was busy, 2 I was lazy and they are not necessarily in that order.

Here is how I polish the back of the trunk.

Thank you for looking. All questions, comments, and criticisms are welcome.

Jon,

Another absolutely beautiful job you did !

You made that black turn into liquid-just-sprayed paint !!!

There is no other Marauder out there; actually there is no other vehicle out there that looks that good for miles around !

I keep seeing people getting great results from the Uber Green Pads, may have to try those out.

Thanks again for the awesome pics, and glad to see that you use Scotts Turfbuilder fertilizer ! :)

No Joke, that is some fine work! As the owner of a Black car I know what a PITA black can be and you kicked it's but. Car was turned around and I am sure the customer was happy.

Thanks for posting with the before and afters.

Hey Jon,
I haven't seen you around much lately. How have you been?
Looks like you have been busy. That Marauder looks amazing. You really did a fantastic job of bringing it back to better then new. I am sure that car hasn't looked that good since the day it rolled off the production line. It's quite a beast though. You must have busted your hump trying to get around.
Great job my friend. Keep up the good work!:notworthy:

Solid work. I always cringe when I see the buffer trails and wonder if the person that made them didn't check, doesn't care, thinks they look good, doesn't know they are avoidable. The funny thing is that the buffer trails often exist along with the original defect. It just blows my mind.

Anyway, nicely done. BTW I like that car.

Thank you, she was alot of work and I probably sweat a gallon or two working on it but it was well worth the effort. The customer was thrilled.

Great turnaround!

Thanks Kody

Super great work on that monster of a car!

Thank you Angelo

Hey Barry Ive been good. I have been staying pretty busy which is good. How have you been? Hows the new job going? Thanks for the compliments, it was alot of work, there is a ton of acreage on that beast.

Led and sun pics show the stuff, the finish is "Poppin" great job on a hard job as it was a big car that was hammmered.

Thank you Bob. I just did my best. Kudos to everyone who can crank out full corrections day after day. I stay in good shape but man am I beat.

Thank you, it is always saddening to see buffer trails on a car. With todays technology in the DA there is no reason for that... unless you are just too lazy. If you cant finish down the rotary finish with the DA.

Thats a lot of canvas to correct. Great job. That black looks amazing.

Thank you, she was work but fun to work on.
