The AG listing is incorrect- I'd suggest referring to the Edge site
So the Edge pads have a manufaturer's site to refer to.
Where can "J" find that same information on the Propel pads?

Shouldnt all vendors follow the manufactors guidlines to limit any confusion;) Vendors sponsor various products, whatever products they maybe shouldn't the directions and information be consistent thru-out..

I didn't bother to check either site, but yes, I think they should be the same, but it is pretty easy to make a mistake when putting something like that together.

I still get confused when people ask me questions without telling me the brand of pad and just a color:confused:

All they need to do is say what the pad is intended for. Cutting, polishing, finishing.

that's exactly how I respond ...I just mention the use so they can figure out what color to use:bigups

OK, we should be corrected now atleast with the Propel pads.
Let me know if there are any others that need to be changed, a reference to the manufacturers list would be the best source for the info.

Thanks,
"J"

Looking at 3M's site I only see 2 different foam pads
A white compounding pad and a black polishing pad, are ther any other colors that you know of?

"J"

What you are going to use will depend on the condition of your paint.

I would make more use of the polishing pad, because the compunding pad sounds like a heavy cut pad. I have never used any 3M pads so maybe someone who has used them would like to chime in.

Won't the type of machine being used come into play here?

Sunstealth: Are you using a rotary or a random orbital polisher?

There's different opinions on this, but I personally wouldn't use a compounding/heavy cut pad with a RO.

That would really depend on the product being used with it and with a RO you would definitely need to be using top speeds :)

I'm new around here and I just wanted to bump the thread and say thanks for all the work that went into this. I've got some Sonus Green, Orange and Blue pads in the garage from a couple of years ago and this is very helpful.
