Gonzo, OK, I had to sit there and read that for aobout 2-3 minutes before I finally figured out that you are a firefighter! I thought that maybe you were cleaning ovens from the inside or something.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but do you detail the firetruck with "Autopian quality" products?

The Deputy Chief in charge of equipment (including the trucks) had asked me to set up a schedule for cleaning a detailing the rigs. They get washed every day and rinsed down after runs in wet weather. Of course, I honored his request... I suggested beginning with a complete waxing once a month, then waxing a panel or two every time the rig gets washed. He talked to a few oher firefighters (the one's on his group , to be exact) who thought that my schedule for detailing was "excessive", so he decided to do a complete cleaning, as his email goes "inside and out, including windows on a quarterly basis :nixweiss

Ironically, I detail quite a few cars for the guys on his group, including the Deputy's!

He buys whatever is on sale at one of the City's FD approved vendors. He has bought Rain Dance and Turtle Wax in the past..ewwww!

When it comes time for my crew to detail our Engine, I will bring in my own supplies, buffer and orbital. The rest of the crew washes and dries, I do the buffing, they do the product removal. Fire trucks are easy to do (mostly flat panels) so with "the system", we get it done together in no time at all. I use the Meguiar's Professional line on the rig, and when we are assigned to do it, it's the cat's meow!

In Arizona during the day about 110-112 .The only time to detail /possible/ is approc. from 10 pm to 10am.Hoooot!

It hit a record 92 here in Seattle:eek:

It's supposed to rain tomorrow, though, lol...that's what people always think of when they think Seattle(rain).
