Makita 6040?

i think there aren't a lot of users because it's sort of a "tweener" product. personally i think it's a much better product than the pc. but a whole infrastructure has built up around the pc7424 (backing plates, pads, etc). the b6040 has no aftermarket support of such things. that said, i still think it blows a pc away.

I think the point was that for the price of the Festool he could buy the 6040 AND a rotary, for example a Metabo or even the Makita 9227 (to stay in the "family").

My question was rhetorical. His complaint was that we are not staying on the subject of Makita BO6040 by discussing Festool so I was pointing out he is then not sticking to the subject either.

No big deal buddy, you LOVE your buffer, I get it. There are plenty of offerings out there, so everyone can use what they like.

What I love is some logic in discussion. We are either discussing other options or we are not.

What works for you works for you. For me once I make an effort I don't stop half way and go for a second best, I go all the way for best.

So, Zoran, I take it you drive a Lamborghini, or is it a Ferrari. Since you go for the best only. No vettes or Vipers for you? And you want logic!

Based on your reaction I see you missed "what works for you works for you" part of my sentence. That's OK.

... and when it comes to your example, no I am not driving neither Ferrari, nor Lamborghini, nor Viper nor Vette as I can not afford neither one of them. However if I could afford any of them I still would not buy any of them. I would buy Koenigsegg CCR (or Ariel Atom or KTM X-Bow Roadster, depending on my actual goal). As I said, for me, if I can afford the best I go for the best, I don't stop half way, so yes, I would say I am still consistent in that logic.

Fair enough, I would go for an Atom myself.

I fell in love with an Atom ever since I first read about it and saw it's pics in Evo magazine (it's an English magazine with superb pictures and superb writing that mainly features supercars but often features anything that fits their moto "the thrill of driving"). That was before that infamous Fifth Gear segment and it is funny that it was scaring the living daylights out of those that were used to pushing supercars full throttle. FG segment left me wanting one even more. But, I doubt I will ever get one as there are some personal obstacles that are preventing me from being able to drive one (at least in it's stock form). That is why I am very excited about KTM X-Bow, because so far it promises features that would allow me to be able to drive one stock as it comes. So maybe not all hope is lost yet.

Yes, I know, that's why I subtracted a theoretical, acceptable verdict from both reactions.
