Making faded/dirty painted Calipers look good again?

And the paint that came on them OEM was low-temp paint? Puh-lease.

Probably, if they were even painted....and further, it was probably low quality paint as well. I resprayed the calipers on my Cobra with Duplicolor and it held up fine for 2 years.

Anyway, the 'repaint' suggestions are tiring.

DACP.. may or may not work, since it contains abrasives.. on a non cleared item.. I'd be hesitant to use it without removing paint. (Remember, NXT Tech wax removed paint, so did PPCL) (had red on my cloth after buffing).

I understand that you are becoming weary of the suggestions to repaint. Having said that it's safe to say that you aren't going to polish these (regardless of product, NXT, DACP, AIO or PPCL) and bring the original shine back without shedding some paint. Even with chemical only type polishises the pad or rag will take some of the original color off. If a product as benign as NXT is making your pad red, the finish is pretty oxidized and you have to remove this layer to get back to the original finish. If you were asking me for a chemical only product to try it would have been AIO but even this is probably more harsh than NXT. Maybe something like Meguiar's Hand Polish. I believe it is suppossed to be a non abbrasive pure polish. I think that STUF Polish also advertises their product this way.

Well, oxidation is fine to come off, however Menzerna FP took *NO* paint off (no paint on towels). So, Menzerna doesn't contain as harsh cleaning agents/abrasives as NXT and PPCL sounds a bit odd to me.

We shall see.

I added a couple of additional suggestions while you were responding to my last post. Take a look at the last sentence just in case you missed those possible ideas.

You will post your results won't you?

Sorry to bring back such an old thread, but any updates?

Also, using a sealant was mentioned. My factory calipers are pretty well oxidized and turning pink. I went out and put some AIO on a section of one of the calipers and it took the oxidation right off. I topped that section with one coat of SG and it looks like new.

Anyone have any experience with Klasse on calipers? I'd like to keep the oxidation down, if possible. I know many have chimed in and suggested repainting the brakes, but most of the caliper paint I've looked at require 24 hours to cure before being driven. Unfortunately, this is my daily driver :)
