Magic Eraser on Windshield

Has anyone used a wet Magic Eraser to cut the "film"on the interior of a windshield?

I saw a video about this on You Tube and it looked like it worked pretty well.
 
Works for me. I have had no problems at all. On that note. I do put down some towels to catch any drips. I use the eraser more on the wet side.
 
Not all auto glass is the same, so make sure you`re not working on soft/fragile stuff that`s easily [messed] up. My windshields range from hard-as-rock to !be gentle! and what`s OK on one would ruin the other.
 
Is it the fact the the magic eraser is a big sponge that is cutting the film? I can`t see how the abrasive would work in your favor with grease.

I haven`t done any really greasy windows in a while, but when I did, I used the old school squeegee like this guy:

The sponge really breaks up the grease and then the squeegee itself get the rest, follow with a MF glass towel.
 
For actual *grease*, and adhesive residue, I often reach for the 3M Adhesive Remover. Tried DiSolveIt and other citrus stuff but the lingering stench of the effective ones drove me nuts.
