Magic Eraser Extra Power Pads

For those of you who use the Magic Eraser pads for exterior trim and interior detailing, I have found that the "Extra Strength" pads last about 3 times as long and are well woth the extra change. The regular strength pads just tear and break down way too easily.

Happy cleaning.

I have been using a generic magic erasers. I bought them from home depot. IIRC they are a 10 pack for i think i paid $3.99 or so. Now i cant find them anymore.

Does anyone know where to get the generic ones?

I bought cheap knock-offs at Target, but they fell apart just like the regular Magic Eraser pads. I get the extra strength pads at target

RAG, where do you typically use these pads?

I use woolite/water and magic eraser on leather ans vinyl, like seats. Works really well, so good, that I use the combination for the couches in my house.

I use them on plastics, rubbers, leather, vinyl....just about anything that dosent have a painted surface.

Here is an example:

I dont use anything but water. Once i go over everything with the eraser i wipe everything down with a wet MF towel. I never use chemicals to clean these types of things. Not becuase its bad but i dont see any reason when a magic eraser does all the work.

Hmm... I used an Eraser (regular) today on spots in my interior that seemed to be "stained" with that soap tinters use...

When I looked at the pad, it had black/grey transfer on it (my interior is black/dark grey). Am I damaging my interior by using the pad? Why is the color transferring? I really don't think its dirt, as I'm on top of keeping the car clean and its been only about 2400 miles.

I used APC with it, too... (Meg's APC). Strange.

On the upside it seemed to take away the soap stains (mostly) after some rather extended scrubbing.

Also, just soaking it some water instantly cleaned up the pad back to bright white...

Not sure what your asking.

I bet its just dirt. Ive used the eraser on tons of leather and it has never damaged it or any other non painted surface.

I thought my leather was clean too till i used the eraser, i was shocked to see it wasnt clean at all as the pics show.

Good question. Where are you guys using these pads at that you can't use a MF cloth

That's not the question to ask. Better would be why are using these pads instead of MF cloth.

The answer would be, because of the incredible cleaning ability these pads have. Crayon marks on plastic that defeat every chemical known to man just rub off 100% with a magic eraser for example.

I wouldn't be so sure that it is just dirt. I tried a Magic Eraser on a Honda Pilot with tan leather. I also used it with Megs APC +. There was definitely color transfer onto the eraser and it did remove coloring from a spot and left it black.

I have pictures of this that I can post later. I wonder if it had something to do with using in conjunction with APC +??

Use caution with the magic erasers.

Like i said in my ealier post, i only use water and the magic eraser, no chemicals. Dont need them with a magic eraser, just need water. Ive done only god knows how many leather seats with a magic eraser and have never had actual color transfer.

Most Autopian cars will never need an Eraser pad except to remove shoe scuffs on the door or something. But for really dirty cars, they are amazing. They should be used with some caustion, as they can be too strong for really old leather and can scuff some plastics...but this occurence is rare...just spot test.

Just water here too.

I noticed you stated you only use water.

My main point was that I used Meg's APC too. It is possible that this is the issue.
