Machine Polishing

With some of the machines, products, and procedures being discussed, I wanted to throw out a few comments.

1. You don't remove scratches, you level the paint around them to make them less noticeable.

2. The small amount of paint removed is not usually going to be a problem, but......
The new Flex, possibly the new 7424XP, and the so called Kevin Brown Method allow people to remove more paint. Much more than most of us are accustomed to using the original PC.
This is not necessarily a bad thing, just something to be aware of.
Polishing paint is not difficult, but like many things, it needs to be approached with some care. A little restraint/moderation is not a bad idea.

I prefer to level the paint around the scratch rather than cutting it down, in most cases. I will make the customer aware of the dangers of scratch removal(not knowing if that area has already been worked, also leaving paint to work with in case of another scratch in that area) and in most cases they are fine with me "hiding" the scratch rather than totally removing it.
