M205

M205 leaves a lot of oils behind, so be sure to hit up your 205 corrections with a good IPA wipe down in order to see what's really underneath. However, I haven't seen polishing oils cover water spots before (then again I'd be polishing to remove the water spots anyway)

Filling swirls/ scratches is one thing, but I've never seen a polish mask water spots like this. Definitely will have to do some more testing with this polish.

What pad did you use with it? And did you do any kind of IA wipedown after?

I used M205/Orange on an S Class a while back and it looked great and glossy. Wiped it down with IA and micromarring galore. If it can do that, I'm wouldn't be surprised it can hide light waterspotting.

Used it with LC white and orange via rotary. Water spots appeared to be removed, until I did a wipe down and they came back.

Really interesting you guys are having trouble with 205. I know smat products can obviously haze but I have used on some really soft paint, IPA, solvent and FI wipes revealed a true correction with no filling and no micromarring.

In for more details.. im intrigued

90% percent of the time it finishes down very well for me too. There are just those random paints that leave faint micro marring. ;)

Is an IPA wipedown strong enough to get rid of the leftover oils from 205?

I recently used it over an area where I wet sanded with 2K grit paper. It finished down very nicely, and I did a quick wipedown to verify it still looked good. But it makes me wonder if *some* oils were still left behind, its not like I let the IPA sit there and soak in or anything.

Well the good thing is this occurred on my Jeep, so I can redo it and document it with photos. Bad part is I already applied opti- coat. Maybe Ill split the hood in half and do a comparison between M205 and Menz 203s.
