M105 overused?

As a newbie this has been an informative and timely thread. Just got my pc several weeks ago. Used M105 and M21 on my daughters 11 year old neglected Infiniti. Wow! what a turnaround to the paint. I was so intoxicated with the results I was going to use it on my Yukon. But the more I read the more I decided to use a less aggressive approach as the paint is in very good shape. It is a DD and gets heavy use and during the hot AZ summers I just have very little time and desire to wash it so it does see a car wash occasionally which means getting a high level of correction would be a waste. Long story short, I did some more research and decided to go with SwirlX and a white CCS pad. Just finished a few panels tonight. It didn't get 100% correction (wasn't practical anyway) as the CC is real hard but it looks fantastic and feels like silk. I still am in awe of the information that is available on this site.

Could I still use my M21 as an LSP over the M80 or is it an AIO? I still get a little confused with the different choices with Megs. Is M80 sort of like M66? Thanks for your help.

Disregard this question. I went and researched your other threads to learn about this. Sounds like good stuff--I'll get hold of some and give it a try!

Now this is how it should be. An *informed* consumer that takes the time to research the products and their correct usage/application. And whaddya know, he got good results. Funny how it works that way!

Uhmm, I guess she was but I've discovered she is like many people who view cars as an appliance (and trash receptacle)! I really did it because I couldn't stand to see it in the condition it was in. My wife isn't a whole lot different either but at least she appreciates me keeping her car nice. To sum up her attitude, last night when I was cleaning the Yukon she came out in the garage, not to comment on the shine but to say " how come you have so many microfiber towels and you sure seem to have a lot of car cleaning stuff now!" I guess since I gave up golf a few years ago I use detailing when I actually have some free time to reduce stress and get separation from running a business and having a very active family. I don't even bother talking to people about detailing as they think I'm goofy!

No I agree with you, although most won't admit it, it does seem as if 105 is automatically used no matter what

I think it might seem that way since people tend to post their more impressive details, ones that show significant correction. I bet many do a lot of 1 or 2 polishing step or maintenance details that they don't bother posting here.

On a side note, I tried 105 for the first time yesterday on a Lexus IS350 (the original formula) and it worked very well for me with a rotary. I HAD to try it because the Megs 85 just wasn't getting everything out that I wanted to get out.
