M105 & Fp Compared To M105 & M205

Wanted to see if anyone's had better results with going with FP after the M105 or with M205.

1. Currently my process has been Orange or wool pad with M105 with rotary

2. White CCS Pad with rotary

3. Finishing with Black finishing pad with PC



I'm always looking to improve my outcome and wanted to see if anyone in particular has had any experience using the FP over the M205 and which process they preferred.

Closest I've come to that comparison was trying the Menzerna FP that's relabeled as "Blackfire Finishing Polish for Ceramic Clearcoat" after having used M205. Even though I was using a more aggressive pad with the BF/Menzerna, it *did* improve upon the finish the M205 had left. Gotta say I was pretty surprised at how significant the difference was.



But..I do think this needs to be decided on a case-by-case basis and that it's risky to overgeneralize.
 
I love FP, I use it all the time - but it very rarely has enough cut to finish down after 105, ime. 205 seems to have quite a bit more cut than FP (to me), so on harder paints I can do 105->205, on softer paints I normally have to do 105->205->FP. I kind of treat 205 and FP differently, 205 is more like a really awesome menz power finish to me.

Yeah, I like using M205 on a somewhat aggressive pad after M105. Didn't realize I needed to do that until I started doing my between-steps inspections with the SunGun.



Before I got M205 I did OK following M105/aggressive with M105/white and then 1Z High Gloss, so there *are* some other things you can follow M105 with.

This statement is by all means correct. To a certain extent it is OK to have a standard procedure for (ie 105 -> 205 -> FP) but it seems like you will always find an exception.
 
I would think that FP2 would finish down better than M205 due to the diminishing abrasives. A medium polish would probably be needed inbetween 105 and FP2 on dark paints though.
 
I have black, soft, Jetta paint. I now use 105->205->FP. This is clearly a step above ending with 205. I think I could replace 205 with IP, but I have not tried that combo.

For sure, before I got 205 I was usually doing a 105/white step in between, or IP/white, 80/white etc. Lots of options, 205 seems to work really well though.

Hey Accumulator have you ever had 1Z HG separate on you? I have a clear solvent type liquid and the blue polish that I can't seam to mix together again.

Not that I've noticed, but I have it in the OE opaque bottle and I haven't used it lately.



Maybe your vendor will take care of it.
