LUSTR Auto Detail - Chicago Car Detailing and Paint Coating Installer (Opti-Coat, CQuartz Finest, 22PLE) Featured Work

My name is Ivan Rajic and I am the owner/operator of LUSTR Auto Detail.  I've been on Autopia for a while, but extremely busy to keep up with the forums last few years.  I figured having a single thread to post some featured work would be cool so here it is.

We specialize in paint polishing and correction as well as installing paint coatings such as Opti-Coat, CQuartz Finest, and 22PLE.  We also offer additional services such as interiors, wheel detailing and headlight restorations.  Lastly, we have an in-house paint protection film (PPF)/clear bra installer who works with both 3M and Xpel products.

While we do most of the work in Chicago land, we have clients all over the Midwest, some as far out as 7-8 hours away in Iowa.

I will try and post up most of our work here, but some is already on our Facebook page, so feel free to check it out.

Onto some pictures finally!

Below is a black 911 we recently polished with 3-4 stages and coated with 22PLE.  As you can see in the photos, the car was hammered like a typical black Porsche, but it came out extremely well after everything...

This gorgeous R8 came to us practically brand new for a paint correction and CQuartz Finest paint protection coating.  It wasn't in the greatest shape from the factory (holograms and sanding marks), but the dealer also decided to put some finishing touches of their own, such as buffer holograms and swirl marks.  Due to the hard Audi paint, it took us 3-4 compounding stages on most deep defects but at the end it came out perfect.  Once polished to perfection, the R8 was coated with CQuartz Finest and looked amazing!  You'll also notice we swapped the original emblems for black matte, which I really like.

Here's one of our favorite jobs from 2013.  The owner of this black VW Beetle came to us after the car was poorly treated by detailers who don’t care too much about cars.  The typical black paint was easily swirled with a wash, but then they left a lot of buffer holograms trying to fix it.  The hood in particular was in very bad shape and most of it looked so hazy that it was practically a dull grey rather than a shiny black.  After a good amount of paint correction, the paint was brought back to life and after was protected with Optimum Opti-Coat paint protection coating.

This detail job was performed on a brand new Lexus IS350. It came to us for a thorough paint correction, wheel detailing and paint protection coating.  In this case, it required a 2-stage paint correction to remove all the unsightly swirl marks and some buffer holograms before we applied Optimum Opti-Coat to the paint, headlights, tail lights and wheels inside and out.  The results were fantastic!

Since you offer so many different coatings, is there situations where one product does better or makes more sense than another? Also, if you could only offer one coating product, which would it be?
