This was a paint correction only on a '67 Corvette convertible, 427/400hp, 100% correct numbers matching, Marina blue, Marina blue, FACTORY AIR, and the rarest of all options for this car..... POWERGLIDE. Very rare car indeed.
The car was painted and polished in 1988. Never polished since that date. Surprisingly, the swirls weren't that bad!
Process:
1. QEW wash
2. Meg's Quik Clay
3. M105/PC/LC Orange KBM
4. M205/PC/LC Red KBM
5. IPA wipedown
6. Z5P/PC/3M Waffle Pad
7. Z6 wipedown
8. Z8 wipe/finish
Just a couple BEFORE SHOTS: As you can see the swirls are not horrendous, but still in need of correction.
Taped off for comparison:
The "Old-Timer" at Work!!!
Applying M105 to Pad... then PRIMING with my fingers... rubbing it into the pad completely:
Many After Shots: (One of my favorite cars!)
