Hey guys, I'm relatively new to autopia, but you guys have been very helpful and I've learned a lot from browsing and watching you real pros work.

I am planning on starting a little business myself, not opening a shop or anything (but who knows...) just operating out of my house for now. This is my first full detail with a 2-3 step paint correction. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Pre-wash (foamed with P21S TAW to strip wax and degrease body)

Wheels (P21S wheel gel, daytona brush, mothers brushes)

Wash (Megs gold class, shmitt, two buckets)

Clay (CG synthetic QD, DI blue claybar)

Second Wash

IPA Wipedown (50/50 70% IPA)

2-Step polish on 90% of the body, 3-step on the whole trunk (Porter Cable 7424XP: Menzerna Power Gloss, Power Finish -PO203S, Final Finish -PO106FA, LC Yellow, Orange, White, Green Pads)

Final Rinse

Seal (Blackfire wet diamond - LC blue, poorboys wheel sealant, both cure for 12 hours)

Dress (CG VRT on tires and trim)

nice man. STi's are sick cars. The wheels went from like a flat black look (dirty) to a nice matte look with a little sheen (clean)

what was your weapon of choice? PC, Flex, Rotary?

Last thing how do you like the Power Gloss? I have never really seen to many people use it but it appears to be like the Meguiars M105 but in Menzerna's version.

I also would like to try Power Finish myself.

Car came out looking great though and both sets of photos are spectacular.

I used the PC7424XP with 5.5" pads on most of the car and 4.0" pads on the side skirts and bumpers. Power gloss works well, it took out a lot of deep RIDS on the trunk (it was swapped from another car). I used the Yellow LC pad for that, and followed up with power finish on orange and final finish on white. I will probably get M105 when I'm out of PG, because I hear good things about it.

The only thing i found strange was how more haze came out when i used 203 + green rather than 203 + orange. 106FA + white came out AMAZING, great combination for a final polish, though I'm curious to try PO85RD on a black pad in the future.

Thanks for the kind words! :hifive:

Very nice STi... I have one of my own that I'm getting rid of... Do you have any motor pics? I love the subaru paint, you can get a great depth out of them even if they are dirty!
