Lucas Slick Mist

This is my first post. I found some stuff called Lucas Slick Mist. It is similar to Ultimate Quik Detail, but, IMO, better. Very slick and gives a deep mirror like final step or use in between wax jobs. I got mine at autozone...large bottle 7.99. You have to ask at the counter for it, as they keep it behind, for some unknown reason.

Welcome to the group:howdy...I have never heard of that product...who makes it? What makes it better then the other?

I have also seen differing views. I think the key is application. I spray it on to a micro fiber (over sponge) applicator, and then apply it thinly and evenly. I have never had a problem. Again, it is similar in consistencey to Ultimate, but gives a deeper shine. Great for applying right before a show, if you are in to that kind of thing.

I tried it on my show car last spring but went back to using the others because I like them better.
IMO Slick Mist is NOT as good as Meg's UQD or several others. It is ok but nothing outstanding.

I know this is an old thread, but I'll bump it up anyway instead of starting anew...

I stopped in Auto Zone looking for a few items and came across a small bottle of Lucas Slick Mist. I believe it's a 8 ouncer, pretty slim bottle with a unique trigger mechanism. I think I might have paid $4-5 for it. I gotta say, I really liked it. It left a very deep gloss on the truck - noticeable difference during applications between panels where it had been applied versus where it had not been. It's also very slick.

Pros: The small bottle is very easy to handle, the sprayer throws out a fine mist, slick, glossy

They had a bigger bottle as well (16 ounces maybe).

Cons: I am thinking it may attract dust, although I am not sure (it rained the night I washed, and it was wet the next morning. So I am dirty again.)

While I can't really make an in depth decision on it after one use, I really liked the look of it. I will definitely be keeping the small bottle to re-use for my bulk QD's in the future.

I have been using Lucas Slick Mist too, and I love it. Its super slick, and is perfect in between wax jobs and right after wash jobs. IMO

I used it when it first came out. Seems like I see it everywhere now. It's an OK product. Nothing I would buy regularly. I rarely buy anything less than a gallon size these days...

I'm a QD junkie - I bet I have two full rows of shelving with nothing but QD's and the like. :D Guilty pleasure I suppose...

I used 2 of the large bottles and liked it but about the time I tried it Megs came out with UQD and M135.

I tried M135 and thought it was more durable and a little better so I bought 2 gallons of M135.

I have 2 gallons of DG-AW 2 gallons of FC&S 4 gallons of S&W and 1 gallon of S&G I like to buy in gallon containers the little 16 ounce bottles are too costly per ounce.

I also have 2 gallons of DP 4-1 it can be mixed with water to make a nice QD

fwiw i now have and regularily use UQDT along side UQW and it is the perfect combo in extending polished/waxed paint finishes and keeps ur car smooth and shiny even when its been about just shy of a full year and a whole winter season since my last wax job !
