LS400 + Menzerna Power Gloss

Had the day off on Tuesday and had arranged to detail my dads Lexus LS400, I'd checked the weather a few days before and it said it was sunny with a little cloud - yeah right - no such luck, Monday night checked the forecast and it was 70% drizzle! :furious:

This is now my 4th detail.

Took the following steps on the car :

Wash with Megs GC, 2 bucket method with sheepskin washmen

Dried with Pak Shak waffle weave micro fibres

Clayed with blue magic fine grade clay bar

PC'd with the following

Menzerna Power Gloss with Megs burgundy pad

Meguiars #80 with Megs burgundy pad

ClearKote Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze with Lake County White Pad

Nattys Blue Wax applied and removed by hand

Megs GC Tyre dressing gel (left the alloys as they're a bit messy and are getting re-furbed this Monday)

Megs Plastx on the light clusters

(I did put 1 coat of 4 Star Ultimate Paint Protection on the bonnet before the Nattys Blue, only did the 1 panel to see how it lasted / reacted on the car)

Just when we started to clay the car the inevitable 'drizzle' came, so we had to move into the garage pretty quick so my 'before' pics aren't great but show how the car was. The size of the car made it quite a job! its 18ft x 6ft so there's a lot of Sq footage of paint to go at. Really could have done with 2 PC's!

Any way here's the pics, there's quite a few :

the Menz power gloss is used for cutting the paint work, its removed once buffed then wiped off. you have to use a lower grade abrasivness to get the shine back as the more abrasive the product leave the paint a bit dull, hence the #80 this restores some of the shine, you then move lower down the abrasivness in order to restore full shine, then top with a selant or wax.

Beautiful job!!! Looks amazing. I can't really discern any difference between the hood with the UPP and the rest of the car. Can you see a difference close up?

Great work!

Eric

I can't really see any difference between the hood and the rest of the car, I just think the UPP may help protect, not sure will have to wait and see! I decided just to do the hood as i was running out of time and wouldn't have been able to finish the car, TBH think i made the right choice.

Think he looks that proud because he helped me a lot with it! lol! he's helped me with 3 out of 4 of the cars, he really enjoys it, think he's got the bug and will be buying a PC very soon ............
