Love at first sight - FLEX XCE and XFE

Yep! You can expect the same German quality!

Maybe. I'm lobbying for a purple model.

Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure Flex will have a few backing plate sizes available for these new polishers.
Now this could be huge. a 4 inch plate that goes with the hybrids that is well built and is not after market and then the standard plate that fits the 6.5 hybrids. Looks like i will need 3 new polishers - one of the 15mm throw and 2 of the forced. What a great system that could be - essense with these flexes and then cquartz as the coating. Gonna be a productive summer.

I'd really love to give this machine a go with some MF cutting pads. Looking to add a 15mm tool to my collection. Seems like it's going to be down to this or the Rupes :)

No long term testing yet. I passed on the black Jeep detail I planned for these FLEX tools after inspection since I only had a Sunday to dedicate to the detail and it was in very rough shape. Black paint, trashed interior that smelled like fish and he wanted a complete coating detail. It would have made for a great before and after, but the timing wasn't right.

FLEX will be down here for Mobile Tech Expo in Orlando so I can get more answers on accessories and when exactly these will be available.

But trust me, I am ITCHING to run these on an entire car.

Aww man! Can't wait to hear more about this! Would be a nice step up from the gg v2! I wonder if there would be a group buy, or at least I hope ! Lol college + want to detail = unhappy wallet 😂

Any news on the XFE ? I'm seeing a release for this month according to some sources, i'm curious about:

-cord quality.
-Trigger function ( on-off type trigger or gradual control like on the 3401).
-noise.
-power on curved/vertical panels.

Really want to get my hands on one of these and i'm over 95% sure this will be my next big purchase so i can pair up with my 3401.

Could you please please really check with them for 5" BP options.. as in exact 5" and not 4 3/8.. People (me) with existing GG/Rupes DAs are heavily vested with 5.5" pads and would just like to buy this machine rather than a whole new set of pads :)

I am on a similar boat as you, purchased the 4 3/8 BP which i feel was a waste now because it is too small for my 5.5" pads and was causing them to deform. I went ahead and took my original 3401 BP and cut that foam sticking out all around the edge and now 5.5" pads fit perfectly on it WITH a safety margin where the actual pad sticks out far enough to use safely, and i can apply pressure knowing it is being distributed to most of the pad and not just the center of it.

The attachment in the prior post says "max. Back-up pad diameter" of 150mm. Roughly equates to 6". Does that mean the back (Velcro) of the pad can be 6". That would be consistent with a rupes 7" pad, or a regular 6.5. If on the other hand the 150mm refers to the size of the pad diameter the backplate could be in the 5" range. Just not sure what back-up pad diameter means.
