Love AIO, but I give up on SG!

Actually, now that you mentioned that 2wheels, I realized that the same thing is probably true for Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Carnuba. I picked some up a few months ago and the shine is the best I've ever seen from a liquid wax, however it's a PAIN to try and buff off. I've let it sit for about 10 minutes and it seemed to be getting easier and easier, but I'll experiment with it this weekend on some cars and see how it fairs after sitting for an hour or two...

:up

Ben - I use LS, sometimes, too. Let us know how your test goes...Thanks..:xyxthumbs

...To the topic, I use a QD (EO or Sonus) to remove SG, followed by a dry towel with great result.

I loooooooooooove LS. Its my liquid wax of choice. You get really nice reflections with LS. I try and spread it around as much as I can and its not tough to buff off. I apply it with a PC though and that might make a difference.

I both apply and remove it w/ a PC followed by a dry microfiber. I do about 1/3 of the car and then remove. I guess it sits at most 15 mins, but it has been a while since I usually use paste. I'd be interested in how it behaves if it sites for an hour or two...

I don't usually have the time to let it sit for an hour. When I put on the wax its the last thing on my list and then I've got to go out and about. The last thing I want to do when I get back from running around town is to buff wax off my car. lol If it takes less than an hour to buff it off then it shouldn't matter how tough it is. Its still faster than waiting for an hour for it to dry enough that it will come off. Ya know? lol That's a good experiment though. I'll probably never have the liesure to wait for an hour or two to buff it off but results to those kinds of tests are always interesting.

I'll let you guys know how it works. I'm detailing a red Pontiac Grand Prix today (yes, I do make exceptions and do non-german cars every now and then -- it's my brother's girlfriend's car) and I'm going to hit that with SMR/Yellow Pad, AIO/Gray Pad, and Pinnacle Souveran Liquid by hand.

The Souveran can set up while I do the interior, so it should be an hour to an hour and a half between application and buffing.

And on the original topic, I used Griot's SpeedShine this morning to remove SG that was applied on top of AIO about 16 hours before, and I didn't even need a dry MF...just the damp SpeedShine MF did it.

Then I applied S100 (my first use of S100) and wow. We're talking 1989 BMW paint (AlpinWeiß-II, or WHITE for the rest of the world ;)) with NO CLEARCOAT, that looks brand new. Damn.

I have tired applying SG on my paint surface for more than 5 coats already and never did I encounter any problem.

I noticed that weather condition has something to do with the SG application. I live in the Philippines and our average weather temperature os about 32 degees (that warm).

Try using SG when the weather is hot and try to see if you notice any difference.

Also, I noticed that the cleaner my paint surface the easier SG can be applied. Try, washing, claying, polishing and Klasse AIO before using SG.
