Love AIO, but I give up on SG!

What the bleep am I doing wrong? I love Klasse AIO. That stuff is awesome!!:xyxthumbs But I've tried SG every which way. I've tried by hand. I've tried with my PC. I always have the same problem. That stuff just plain sucks to rub out!:grrr I know, I know. You're going to say that I have used too much product. Well, I might have in the beginning but I finally went with a dime sized blot on the PC pad and still had the problem with some of the residue being Bleeping difficult to remove!



Is there a better sealant glaze out there that isn't such a pain to remove. Lastly will it bond to AIO like SG is supposed to?



Thanks for letting me vent. It's just that I have a Ford F-350 Crew Cab 4x4 long bed and that is one mean mutha to detail!;)

I've used AIO as a base for Platinum and Blackfire with excellent results. Those are both really easy products to use but the drawback is possible dust attraction because they pack a little more oil and that seems to attract the dust.
 
JohnSWA, I recently bought AIO & SG from Autopia, but haven't yet had a chance to try them. :( But I posted a thread here asking for basic Klasse instructions, and 4DSC came up with some really great threads that provided guidance. If you suspect there might be a problem with your technique, you might want to take a look at that thread.
 
The two MF towel method is the only way to go. After the SG has dried, wipe first with damp and then follow with dry. No haze whatsoever. You also want to make sure that you are allowing it to dry for at least 1 hour prior to buffing off.



I have never had any problems with these methods. I love SG.:xyxthumbs

I third that! I put three coats on using that method and I didn't even bother watching how thick I was putting it on:up
 
I got my first bottle of AIO last week, I have used it as base for UPP. Did the opposite side of my car tonight....PI III, then AIO and a thin coat of UPP....very nice. Wiped everything down with QuickShine when I was done....she looks terrific...and she SHOULD last more than 2 weeks.
 
I agree, SG is a pita. With so many other excellent products, why hassle with it?



Platinum is a good product, great shine and much deeper than SG.



Poorboy's EX is even better, great, deeeeeep shine, not finicky at all, easy to apply, easy to take off. Used it on a Black Audi A8, Black VW Beetle, Dark Green BMW X5 and a British Racing Green Jaguar XJ8. All rock.



Go with the Poorboys over AIO and you will be a happy camper.

Use of Klasse's Sonus QD misted on a MF towell makes quick work of all those "heavy" hard to remove spots and results in a wonderful shine. Far superior to a MF misted with H20 or even the Eagle W & S in terms of final appearance.
 
Ok, since I have most of the bottle left I'll give SG one last try. It'll be a while though. I need a vacation from detailing this beast. I spent almost two days cleaning her up after a beautiful weekend up in the mountains.

I forth the two MF method. Just make one towel damp. Wipe a 2-3' area with the damp towel then wipe with the dry towel and SG removes as easy as S100. I also have used Sonus QD. It woks just as well but you are using the Sonus unnecessarily $$$$$

Also the longer you wait to remove the SG the easier it comes off. 5 hours minimum for me.
 
Yeah, the time thing is very important. I have found that even Platinum is difficult to remove if you don't leave it on long enough (> 40 minutes).
 
Yeah, what jonw440 and 2wheelsx2 are saying :xyxthumbs If it's feasible for you, overnight (or even longer) curing works great. Gotta have a dust-free workplace though. Just for kicks I let a rather heavy SG application set up on some chrome trim (not exactly the same as paint, but anyhow..) for nearly a week. It wiped right off. No problem at all. After that I left it on the MPV for two days, again, it wiped off easily. Note that I DO fog the surface with my breath before wiping- similar to the damp MF technique. Also, I usually use suede-style MF's for SG removal.

I use SG, UPP, EX, P21S CW, 1Z GW, no problems at all. In fact, today I applied SG over AIO on my front bumper. Easy on, easy off (after 30 min). :confused:

No problem. Several members here, including JGV, pointed out that fact to me. If you apply PUPP too thick, or leave it on for too short a time (~20 minutes in my one trial), it just smears around like and oily film. It's really weird. But leaving it on for >30-40 minutes, piece of cake.
