Lotus Elise

Wow, that paint looks like just came out from a swimming pool.

Whats different between this one and Exige?(HP, i bet)

Yeah the Exige is the higher-performance version of the high-performance Elise. I believe there are extra modifications to the suspension and engine. I can't imagine much in the way of weight-reduction, because the Elise is already skin and bones.

WOW great colour and a great detail!!

Lotus factory is only about 40 miles from here. They are great little cars, Lotus being chassis experts! Build quality isn't perfect but better than say a TVR (which are even more crude but far more powerful!!). However, if I was in the market for an Elise, I would go for a Vauxhall VX220 Turbo, especially in VXR spec. Basically an Elise with slightly different body panels, but a 200bhp 2 litre turbo!!! (220bhp in the VXR)

Nice work Anthony. The Cyclo seems like it would be hard to manuever in certain areas of this car. Did you end up doing some of it by hand?

Quite a few guys out here, who like to track their GT2s, GT3s, 360 Stradales, etc. have bought Elises for the track instead. They are not nearly as fast (power deficient), but they have give wonderful feedback and are extremely fun. They are also much cheaper to operate in such conditions. It's a good car to learn techniques for a mid or rear engined vehicle. Basically, this is just a fun toy, not really your dual purpose car.

Hey thanks guys for the compliments :)

Also, I was shocked when he called me up to tell me he bought the car because he got rid of an 05 Porsche GT3 for this Elise!! :scared:

Anthony

Now THAT'S a shame! I don't care for the styling or even that color, but I LOVE the way you make it SHINE!!

Yea Justin I agree....it is alot cheaper to buy and operate an Elise for track purposes. I also heard that Porsche may void any warranty work if they find out you are using the car as a track car.....I love Porsche but that's just rediculous in my eyes.

I did have to do the tighter areas by hand and also one area with the rotary and a small 3in pad.

Thanks again for the kind words :)
