Lord Vader, your H2 is ready, plus a couple Explorers, Carrera S, CJ beads

A couple 2004 Ford Explorers. More of the one steps for the office that rewards their employees with my details. :)

Last one stepped this one with Long Haul's Polish/Wax in November. After 4 months, there was some slight slickness, okay beading and it still looked decent. Not bad for a $12 bottle of cleaner wax I got on sale at Pep Boys. Anyway, I hadn't used NXT in a while so I applied NXT Paste via PC and a blue Propel finishing pad.

This one I one stepped in early February using Meguiars #20 Polymer Sealant. Obviously, 5 weeks, it was still holding up well. I applied Detailer's Pride Premium Surface Shield by hand. Odd thing about the paint-it has a ton of metallic in it, so in the rear and side shots, the metallic in the sun gives the paint an odd flat look. :nixweiss

I used Carnauba Jett on the Rolls I regularly clean and took these pics a week after application. Beads very nicely!

Took this after removing the nozzle and slowly running water over the paint. 95%+ of the water sheeted off-and very quickly!

2005 Porsche Carrera S. Detailed the exterior in late December using Werkstatt's Prime and Acrylic Jett. Still looked really good after a wash today, so I just added another coat of AJ.

2004 Hummer H2. Looks like how the FBI would order one. Debadged except for the H2 on the sides, no brush guard, no spare on the back, no roof rack. Really clean look, IMO.

Here are a few before/afters.

Rear door polished with a 50/50 mix of Optimum Polish and Optimum Compound using a Meguiars polishing pad and the excess removed with Optimum Car Wax. Front door is untouched.

Tailgate before-as you can see, the light scratches make it look dull:

After the same steps as above:

Final Process- Polished with a 50/50 mix of Optimum Polish and Optimum Compound using a Meguiars polishing pad and the excess removed with Optimum Car Wax and topped with Meguiars #16 Paste. Tires and fenderwells dressed with Armor All.

very nice work, your photos always look amazing. Gotta love that GM orange peel though, holy hell that is terrible.

Exactly what I thought.

Porsche looks great as well.

As always very nice Scott.

I have one coat of CJ on the beater while it takes me a few days to polish it out. It looks very nice and has a decent slickness.

nice work!

do you just pick and choose whatever product you want to apply to a customers car?

ie: i think ill apply such and such to see what the outcome is.. or do you have a set prodcut to use on a specific colour etc?

Scott, everything looks amazing as always.

I love the reflections in the chrome piece from the Rolls.

How did the Optimum Compound & Optimum Polish combo work out for you? Did you have any swirling or hazing from it? The Hummer looks great in the pictures as well as everything else.

Hey Scott,

Great pics! How ya been?

If you can, please e-mail or PM me...

Matt-I get this message when I try to PM or e-mail you:

Hit up my website, my e-mail link is on the front page.

tomee-actually, a bit of both. Sometimes I will try a specific combo on a regular's car, knowing that if it doesn't turn out as well as I hoped, since I see the car regularly, I can use something else the next time I come out. I do let the customer know I am trying something new and I will redo it if they aren't happy. Most of the time though, I try to balance between the ultimate look and ultimate durability, depending on how often I see a vehicle and what the owner's expectations are. For example, using Souveran vs. Meguiars #16. You can trade a little look for a little durability as needed.

Rick-I barely got hazing using Optimum Hyper Compound on my 626's soft paint, so no, no hazing whatsoever on the H2 and its hard GM paint. Good way to save either some time or money for the customer by eliminating a step that you might otherwise need. In this case, since OC finishes down just about as good as OP but does have a bit more cut, mixing them got me a somewhat more aggressive product that also finished down well enough that a glaze or additional polishing was not needed. By using OCW to remove the residue and then topping with #16, I was able to give the customer 2 coats of wax in the time it takes to apply one at less additional cost to him.

Plus he is a friend of mine who drove all the way up from Austin. ;)

As always, you provide the results I will always strive for. You are my incentive to be the best at what I do Scott. Beautiful work...

Definitely a standard scott. Impeccable.

One of the things I look for now with blacks reflectivity and tinted windows is how seamless the reflection is. There are two perfect examples here.

The Rolls trunk lid and the rear window almost look like one piece.

The whole Hummer looks like tinted glass!

Amazing!
