Looks like I might be Detailing a Viper soon, Tips?

It is a red 98 RT/10, Chrome wheels and Black Leather. I met the guy at the car show, we were taling car care, his car was not detailed but clean. I was trying to give him a few tiop and he said " I like driving them, not cleaning them" So we may be working something out:D

So any tips for a car that has a $12,000 hood:scared lol
 
Dodge paint responds very well to steel wool and sand. Make sure you work it into the paint with as much pressure as you can. ;)



















































Actually, just treat it like any other $75,000 car. Pinnacle Souveran or P21S should look incredible on a red Viper.

If he has the $$ for a viper, he might be the person who gives Mucho Grande ( i forget the word for tips.)
 
hmm...... depending on the paint condition and how he uses the car, I would say either use Zaino on it, or use the Souveran (between the two, I'd say use Zaino...... hell, Sal even owns a Viper!!) ;)

Heh heh. Sorry, after detailing Bentleys and Lamborghinis, a Viper seems almost pedestrian.



Honestly, nothing real special about the paint from what I can tell (I've detailed a Viper when they first came out).



Make sure you get the fenderwells real clean-they are noticable if they are dirty.

ONE THING YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO IS USE A HIGH SPEED BUFFER ON THE PAINT.



A VIPER, UNLESS IT HAS BEEN SEVERELY SPIDER-SCRATCHED SHOULD NOT REQUIRE HIGH SPEED BUFFING.



IN MOST CASES YOU CAN JUST WAX IT WITH AN ORBITAL WAXER ONLY.



IF YOU THINK IT MIGHT NEED SOME LIGHT POLISHING I WOULD USE AN ORBITAL WITH A SWIRL/REMOVER POLISH AND THEN WAX IT.

First start by detailing your name into the cars title, then detail the registration into your name. :D



I detailed a 98 Blue Viper GTS last year, and it went pretty smoothly. The only place I had trouble with was the vents on the hood, I had to use qtips with rubbing alcohal to clean up the sealant and compound residue that got in the cracks. Afterwards I used q-tips again to seal that area.
 
just treat it like any other car. No need to go out and get some thing special for it. I have done about 3 of them.

At first i loved it, but now that i have done them they are just like any other car. The more you look at the car the more you will think to yourself what a waste of money, better off buying a vet then a viper.

Have you considered using "detail brushes" to remove wax residue? There are two styles, paint brush and toothbrush.



They work well and are much faster than Q-tips.
