Looking for fairly cheap, good QD...Read within

I too will try the FD when my FI gallon is depleted. I have heard continued praise for FD not only on this thread but prior ones on the forum.

I have to say that I will be expecting the FD to have the great cleanig abilities that I have come to like in FI.

A question I have, is FD also good on sealants like FI (eg. use in between klasse sg applicaions)?

Thanks.

Huh, I just bought mine about a month ago and back then when I did a search here, practically nothing came up. I didn't think anyone had used it. I certainly hadn't heard praise for it. I am surprised by how many people came out of the woodwork here saying they use it. I think only one other person responded to my review of it saying they use it too.

As far as using it on sealants, I use it on Blackfire and it is just fine. I don't think I would use it right before applying another layer, but I wouldn't use any QD then. I guess if I were layering a car that sat in the garage and wasn't taken out during the layering process I might QD a car first. In that case I might be more inclined to use FI, but really I think I'd just wash it. I don't think I've ever applied a protectant without washing first. :nixweiss

The $23 seems to be a fairly common price for Final Inspection. I have paid that at two different Meguiar's distributors in my area. When I am in one again, I will check the price of the Final Detail.

Scottwax said he used to get it for like $18 or something... Plus he can get Clearkote locally (I was considering QuickShine against the FD, but just couldn't get over the shipped price of a gallon (I could get two gallons of FD, the spray bottle, and still have money left for a 16oz FI)). Like his pictures didn't make me feel bad enough already... :(

Aurora40,

Your thread was actually one of the ones I was reffering to, and I thought there was another one concernig qd's (unless I am going senile:confused: ).

I sometimes use FI to buff off the sg when it has dried and also between layering when the car has been in the garage over the several day process with great results (I guess I am too anxoius/lazy to wash between layering since I would have to do it everyday of the layering process:o ).

Asharna: Final Detail has come up several times in discussions on quick detailers. Several threads refer to it, seemingly in a positive manner.

Aurora40: Depending on the person you talk to the prices for the two products are;

3401 Final Inspection, 1 gal. $21.99 or $22.70

5101 Final Detail, 1 gal. $16.38

Final Inspection is in stock, Final Detail has to be ordered.

Charles

Just a quick heads up, I've been using Final Detail for about 8 months now actually before I found this site. I started using it after being dissapointed with Zaino and wanting a good combination of polishes and waxes that would give me a deep finish and slick surface.

For those that haven't tried it I'm confident you will be impressed.

I know I kind of asked this before, but anywhere I can get this online, or anyone that would get me some and ship it to me??

Thanks,

Brett

But I don't think that place will sell you just a bottle. Basically, no I dont' think you will find it online. But it isn't impossible. I found some place in CA that would ship me Engine-Kote and APC+ online. I don't remember where, though, but I definitely (along with others) posted it. Check the prod. review archives. The shipping was pretty high, though, which prompted me to scour the yellow pages until I found a place that sold Meg's. They had never heard of the Detailer line, I got them to order the stuff from their Meg's dist, and they then decided to carry the whole line. Good luck!

Edit: okay, some more results of searches:

http://www.steamcarwash.com/shop.cart?action=CAT&ccode=1101020031 FD was $15, but so was shipping!
