Looking for a small, powerful and very cool wet/dry vac?

Just bought this vaccum and the power of this machine is super. Light weight and not that loud.

Wondering should I buy the extra accessories kit for $19.95 at HD?

Just a quik tip, if you tear out the inner paper lining, you will notice a difference in sucktion. Mine went out, replaced it but with a Craftsman Clean N Carry(4 gallon, 5 horse) from Sears and it works better, will literally lift the floor matt, Martin.

The HD 5 hp 4 gallon wall mount unit is $79. I've only had mine for a few weeks and I'm very impressed with how well it works.

I just got the Cratfsman model that was metioned in this thread and I am also pelased with the results...It's scary how similar these two are...I got the Craftsman becuase of the wheels and the 1/4 inch hose though....

There are two different Ridgid models in the 4 gal, 5hp setup. They look almost identical, but there are several differences. The stand-alone model (WD4050) has significantly fewer attachments. It also has a more powerful motor. It has a 9 amp motor, while the wall-mountable unit (SG4000) only has a 8.5 amp motor. The stand-alone unit will not fit into the wall mount cradle. The mountable units have the blower feature "removed" because of safety regulations, and interestingly are not marketed as wet/dry vacs, presumably simply because they are "designed" to stay in one place. The stand-alone units (WD4050) are about $10 less at Home Depot, but I have yet to find a store that stocks them. They seem to still be available online though. I called Ridgid (1.800.4RIDGID) and was told that the 1 7/8" to 1 1/4" adaptors are not included with any models anymore, and furthermore the adaptors have been discontinued altogether. Apparently Ridgid makes a 1 1/4" hose that can be used with either model if you want to order one to increase static lift, or want to use 1 1/4" tools you already have.

I remove the filter on mine, gives more power. Not that its small but I just got a 6.5hp 16 gallon fom Sears. You will have to pry that thing out of my cold dead hands. Best vac I have ever used, amazing power. I dont even use my extractor anymore I just use the wet vac as it blows it away.
