Looking for a more aggressive clay...

It's acidic, but not nearly strong enough to "burn out" the rusted ferrous contamination. IMO the "B" acid in the AutoInt decon. systems isn't all that strong either, but it's a *whole lot* stronger than vinegar. Not "burn your skin off" strong, but still...

Hey Accum,

I have an old 17 year old work truck that I really don't care about the appearance of it. However, I would like to control the spreading of the rust. I have used some Eastwood and Rustoleum on it but I wonder if using a Paint Decontamination would help also? What is your opinion?

I clay while the acidic "B" step is dwelling, but note that doing that will result in going through a *lot* of clay as the "B" messes with it in a big way. It's still an effective combination though.

To prevent the B from drying on your car, do you only us B a section at a time claying each time?

Also, you where gloves while using A and B correct?

Nah, this decon stuff is more for cleaning off corroded ferrous contamination that's embedded in *otherwise good, healthy paint*. I'd stick with something like Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator for your work truck (topping it with Rustoleum works well for me).

Nah, I do the whole vehicle at once. Noting that I work in a climate-controlled shop, there hasn't been any problem keeping it from drying even when I do stuff like the minivan.

I always wear gloves when washing/etc., but yeah, you really oughta wear them with the "A" and "B". I wear safety glasses/faceshield too, not overkill IMO at least with the "B". Again, it won't really burn your skin or anything like that, but it does sting if it gets into a cut/etc. and I don't want to have to think about it if the "A" & "B"ing takes a while (repeating suggestion to do the "B" step a few times if necessary).
