Looking for a good tire gel

Meguiars Endurance High Gloss. Very shiny (too shiny for my tastes, but . . .) and lasts several weeks.

Second that. Definitly on the glossy side and good durability.

I don't really like Meguiars EHC, I have nothing to replace it with at the moment, so I still use it. I find it is gone within a day of applying so I guess I must be doing something wrong, maybe not applying enough or something, buy yes it has quite literally all but dissapeared within a day or two :( My tyres are Dunlop's I don't know if that makes any difference, but I guess tyre manufacture could/would make a difference ?

Anyway, I would be interested in other peoples opinions of other products too

My nod goes to Wolfgang Tire Gel.

Not extremely high gloss, but I consider it a nice sheen. It goes on with little effort and a little goes a long way. It will definately last through a couple rainings and no slinging that I have noted. Thin coats and extended dry times are key.

Edit: Endurance High Gloss

I have a bottle of it that's about 3/4 full. I just haven't gotten around to chucking it in the trash. I tried a number of different ways to apply it, but I always got terrible sling.

Endurance High Gloss. Pretty durable and very little/no sling if the tires are wiped down after letting the gel sit for a while.

Wolfgang's tire gel has a nice look but I have had horrible sling with it. Just put it on my tires again midweek hoping I have less sling this time around.

Endurance is rather hard to apply I must admit. Its just so darn thick, but I think it looks great when done properly.

As far as the durability the shine goes away after a few days, but the deep black looking usually lasts me about a week. Its not all that durable, but I keep going back to it for some reason.

You can always send it my way Pondscum!!!

I agree that Endurance is difficult to apply, though I haven't tried it with a tire swipe. Have you used the Eagle One tire swipe with Endurance? I suspect it would still be difficult because it is so thick...

O thats what I use to apply (well not EO, but those cheap ones from the dollar store that are 4 for a dollar).

Its still a little hard to apply to me, but definitely not impossible. What I do is cut the swipe in half to fit my tires (low profile) and it makes it a lot easier.

Its not a gel but the Tropi-Care Tire & Rubber treatment is my choice. Tires look like they were dipped in salad oil when you're done and the durability is excellent with 0 sling.

I like Wolfgang Tire Gel a lot so I second Sean's recommendation, however my favorite is Zaino Z-16 (non-gel). I just keep coming back to it like a classic product does.

I have been wanting to try Z16 for a while now as well as their leather conditioner.

I also wouldnt mind trying Wolfgang, but at 15 bucks a bottle its pretty pricey (as are all the Wolfgang Products).

Hey JayC you wouldnt happen to have any pictures of a tire with the TropiCare on it would you? Also your from Garner? I live about 20 minutes away from you in Coats. Im up around the Fuquay and Garner area a lot.

Lee,

I like Z-16 from what I can tell from a few pictures. What kind of durability have you been getting out of it, and how long does a single bottle last?

Im actually between Garner and Benson off Hwy 50 so yea, we're pretty close.

Here's a thread from a while back with one photo in it. I thought I had posted some more but I guess not.

i have the 4star tire gel and i like it. i really hate putting tire gel's on though, so i mix my tire gel with 303 and water. about 1/3 tire gel, 1/3 water, and 1/3 303 and i spray it onto an applicator and then proceed to work into the tires and i really enjoy it. works great and lasts a couple of washings.

2-4 weeks depending on weather conditions and a bottle lasts a very, very long time. You only need to use a little bit.

Greg, PM me if you want a small sample. I can send some out this week.
