LOOKING for a good detailer in VANCOUVER, WA

Hi everyone... great forum here.

I have a 2004 GMC Yukon XL that has been neglected for many years... parked outside, rarely washed, hasn't been waxed in years.

Wonderful vehicle, but now I need to step up to the plate and find someone who can erase all the years of paint neglect and treat the car to what it deserves.

Can anyone recommend a detailer in Vancouver, WA area that is really knows his stuff and is good?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Thomas! Thanks for your note. I took some time to look at your website and the quality of your work and obviously, you are a master detailer and a true specialist, especially with fine and expensive cars! I'm afraid my needs are much more basic than what you specialize in.

My vehicle finish needs are "utilitarian" and involve vehicles which are neither fancy, nor exotic.

1) A 2004 GMC Yukon XL (essentially a "Suburban") that just needs to be brought up to a nice freshened condition and then sealed with a good paint sealer so I can keep it up more easily. It has been let go (except for occasional drive thru washes) and kept outdoors much of the time, so I'm sure there is a good coat of contaminants on the paint.

2) A 2004 40' motorhome with "full body paint". This has been kept under cover a great deal of the time and the paint is in reasonably nice condition. With this motorhome, I only want an exterior cleaning and basic paint prep, then a durable paint sealant which I may be able to more easily keep up with myself. Due to the size of the vehicle, finding someone in the Vancouver, WA area who might work on the coach at my home could be the best approach.

Neither vehicle has need for "concourse" detailing, nor great beautification. Just basic cleaning and paint sealing.

To help me afford this work (especially with the motorhome) I was hoping to find someone who might be early in their detailing career development, but still skilled and knowledgeable enough to do a good job with these utilitarian projects.

Do you have any suggestions with this information in mind or do you know of anyone in the area who might be willing to take on these jobs?

Paint is paint. I don't just do high end cars I hope you know that and not all cars I do get paint correction.
What color is the car?

wash
clay
1 step polish (light color)
2nd step polish (dark color)
wax/sealant

Plus interior?

What is your budget for the Yukon?

The Yukon XL paint color is called silver birch.... sort of a warm silvery color.

The motorhome looks like this

i thought of thomas right off the bat. i just finished a 20 foot motorhome and at my age it almost killed me. thomas is younger and fresher. surburbans are 25 per cent of my work.

yes... detailing a large RV is definitely a younger man's realm... I'm definitely too old for the job myself.

Some times when we only post the cool cars, we shoot ourselves in the foot.

I concur, that whether its a exotic or a DD, they all clean the same.

I can agree there. Even having them in the shop can make people uneasy about price.
The funny thing is the high end spectrum usually is not always as bad as dd's.
Charge by what you do and not what you work on it is always fair.

Thomas... PM replies sent, please check your PMs.

zoomzoom... thanks for the offer... you are thinking I'm in Vancouver, BC, but actually I'm in Vancouver, Washington, USA! Thanks anyway.
