Looking for a decent BULK non-silicone tire dressing

I'm looking for a good but relatively cheap NON-silicone tire dressing. Preferably gel based.

I want it cheap, and the option of buying it in bulk. It will be for a mobile detailing bus.



I also would like for it to last through at least two rainstorms and preferably 2 weeks at the min.



I've used just about ALL the OTC tire dressings, and my favorite is AA Gel's based with any foam cleaner/tire dressing. It lasts close to a month for me, however I've ran into a few problems with the gel turning the tires a light brown (only on a few rare occasions).



Anybody have an opinion? I'm open to any product, and doesn't HAVE to be gel based.
 
Is there such a thing as a non-silicone tire dressing? Tropicare makes one, but it's a little like floor wax. And I think Meg's has a non-silicone dressing, but I don't think it will last thru a rainstorm.
 
Danase sells Poorboy's Bold N' Bright by the gallon. It is a water based dressing that I have always liked. It might not be the cheapest stuff out there but I've never had a tire turn brown that I used it on. I think I read where Steve (Poorboy) is working on a gel based version but I have no idea when it will be released.



You might want to look in the Click & Brag forum and see what some of the guys are using that buy their stuff in bulk.
 
If you want it in bulk at a cheap price you should check out one of the major suppliers. AutoMagic,Ardex,Car brite, etc. The all have a bodyshop safe line which you could pick from several different dressings.



I like automagics super dress it. Its a waterbased.



If you want long lasting you're probably gonna want to stick to petrolum based(silicone) dressings. Water based dressings usualy wash off quickly.

I'll second the Super Dress It. Lately, I've been using it straight and I love the shine. It won't sling and it can be sprayed on a wet tire. No worries about having to wait until the tire's dry and get misting spots all over the car. In this case, just spray it on your tires right after your final rinse and dry the car. Won't stain driveway either. I used to buy it by the 55 gallon drum for $700. You can also cut it 5 to 1 for engines. :up
 
Optimum Tire Shine. $20 a gallon, medium gloss sheen, and lasts 2-3 weeks, based on my experience.



BTW, I really don't think any tire dressings are completely silicone-free, but I think it is the PD's that you are talking about. Optimum won't turn the tires brown, and neither will any good PDMS(milk colored) dressing.

The very first thing on the bottle say's "Water Based Product"



It can be bought in gallons but isn't the cheapest stuff around. It's all I use though.



Autogeek has it on sale right now, so you might order a smaller size and give it a try before you get a whole gallon.
 
As others have said, you won't find a truly silicone-free dressing--what you want is one that is water-based as opposed to Petroleum Distillate-based because the latter tends to brown tires. The PERFECT one for you would definitely be the ChemicalGuys gel: Trim Shine. It has no PD's, doesn't brown, looks great, and lasts awhile. I only see it in pints on the website, so you'll have to call up about gallons.

Unfortunatly mine turned brown, all I used was BnB on me new tires and they turned brown. Not sure if it was BnB not getting along with Sumitomo HTRZ II compound or what but they turned and no other tire dressing was used othen then BnB. Sad to as I loved the look but Wolfgangs tire dressing has given me the same look with better durabilty to boot.
 
Gliptone also makes a Silicone Free tire dressing.



Rubber Dressing

Concentrate, Silicone Free

A deep penetrating, long lasting dressing for use on tires and moldings. Superior shine in a body shop safe non-silicone formulation. Dilutes 4:1 for maximum economy. GT33401 ... 1 gal.
 
Duragloss makes a non silicone dressing...it is called

Duragloss NSD (Non Silicone Dressing)



you can regulate the gloss..add more will add gloss...use less will be matte...I use it and it does work great..does not streak..and lasts a few weeks...



The other one I use is Duragloss TMD (Tire & Mat Dressing)..this is a water based silicone polymer....this stuff does not wash off...water just beads off it...this can be used on rubber ..trim...hard plastics..it works great also...this lasts longer than the non silicone dressing..it gives a natural look with one coat..a little gloss with 2 coats..



But they work good..both have good longevity...

I have DG Non-silicone dressing on my list right now and am about to order it.
 
Non silcone dressings tend to be offered for boby shops and such. I've tried them out a long time ago just out of curiousity and didn't like them. I'm gathering you are looking for a water based and not a petroleum based dressing. Cheap, Bulk, Insane Durability and maybe a gel seems unlikely. If AA is working for you other than a few times maybe you can use an alternative dressing on the vehicles that it doesn't work for you. I've used a ton of dressing and currently am carrying two. Stoners trim shine cut 1:1 for wells and lower gloss on tires. At $59 with shipping for 5 gallons (10 after I cut) it's tough to beat. Even less if you buy 2 pails and $5 off coupons are easy to get on their website "win free stuff". Isn't going to last for two weeks but I've never experienced that durability on a regular basis. Generally I use water based but tried a gallon of the Meguiars All Season Dressing. The yeild is high when I apply with a brush and holds up pretty well. I have mainly weekly customers and while the tires look nice each week the gloss is usually gone. I tried AA gel (think it was extreme shine or something) with a foam for cleaning but didn't see any improved durability. Are others getting 2 week durability through rain on customer cars? I never see this. By lasting I'm thinking the tires should look shiny after two weeks. While most don't look bad, the gloss is almost always gone. Those that have held up well seem to sling, attract dust (black sludge build up) and funk up my cleaning brush.

Its amazing how many people are suggesting the expensive botique dressings when the person said he wants cheap and bulk. Like i said best bet is one of the major suppliers.
