Look what UPS brought me today!

I was going to get the 2001 Maxima 16s, but these wheels were impossible to pass up. The 16s that I was bidding on were at $381 + $120 for shipping = $501.

These wheels I got for $300 + $50= $350. Tires cost $18 more each, but even with tires, I saved roughly $75 by getting the 17s.

Looks great Paul! Post pics when they're on your Max!:up

WG x5 huh?

Very nice! I might look to see if anyone is selling take-offs from a Mazda6 V6 to put on my 626.

Yeah, the M6 17's are one of the nicer stock wheel designs, similar to the ones on the RX8, IMO.

If that rim scuff is deep, there just was a thread on fixing such problems. If you do it post pics.

I've never had wheels with a lot of flakes, and holy crap do these have lots of flakes! The wheel flakes look just like the pearl in my paint. After the AIO/WG, the flakes are just popping out of the wheel!

I'll see if I can get a teaser shot for you guys... The wheels have had:

wash with NXT

clean with P21S W.C.

clay with Mothers clay

AIO

WGx1

(I skipped the 3M polish since they were really no visible scratches/swirls other than the minor curb rash.)

The wheels now have WGx2. I changed my mind...I'm going to do WG x3, then #16. Then I'll take some pics outside where I have much better lighting.

OK here's your teaser shot... I'm so cruel... :)

You weren't expecting a picture of the fronts were you? :p

You've been caught! True Autopians do not mix Dawn in with their detailing products. :p :nono

LOL. Oh I meant to remove that from the picture :doh :hide:

I use that for washing dirty PC pads and hand applicators. I don't use it for cars anymore.

just so you know it's not a hairnet, its a cover for the face of the wheel. just about all new wheels come with those over them, my ssr's, lowenharts, racing harts etc. have all had them. also when shipping wheels, most wheels do not have any padding around them if they fit the box perfectly. just so you know, the seller wasn't totally clueless or anything.

the forces of your wheels on the road will be far worse than the shipping, trust me.

Well now I know. :o

I realize that the box is a heavy cardboard which would serve as good protection for the wheels. I just thought he could at least put newspaper or other packing material in ALL of the boxes, not just some of them.

OK here they are after wash, P21S W.C., clay, AIO, WGx2...

I don't think they are going to look a whole lot different with more layers of WG/#16 so I figured I'd just post pics now.

Thanks for the link.

I'll also add that I spun all 4 wheels on the car to see if they were bent in any direction. They are all fine. :)

Now I can safely say I got one hell of a deal on Ebay!

Actually, what I think you're referring to is on all 4 wheels. It looks to me like touch up paint spots. I managed to pick off some of one of the spots with my fingernail, but gave up on that idea. Most of the spots don't want to budge.

Update:

As you can see from my sig, I am looking for a Mazda Protege to replace the Maxima. Since the bolt pattern on my Max is 5x114.3, and the Protege is 4x100, these wheels wouldn't fit the Protege. Solution: sell the wheels.

Today I received my payment of $410.00 for the wheels (including shipping). After shipping costs, I'll have made about $10 profit on the wheels. Not like it's that much though, since I spent several hours detailing them. I'm just happy I could get away with not losing any money on them, since I didn't get to put them on the car. :(

The wheels now have AIO + WGx4 + #16x2. They are incredibly smooth, and the beading action is rediculous.
