washed with a scrubbing pad all over the entire car...with the rough side!!!!!

its a toyota car, black, and the paint is really soft...I tried to guage how deep the scratches were in multiple places by running my fingernail across them and while none of them really caught, I did manage to put light scratches into it...anyway, going to try it out with a PC at first, then if its not going anywhere, bring out the rotary, then back to the PC...I think it may give the PC a hard time, but we will see...

here are the pics...dont get scared...:bolt

i guess it was really dirty and he only had 15 minutes before he had to leave...lol

i think that I will get to this sometime later this week or next weekend...i'll update the pics with what I get done...lol

:nervous2: :nervous2: :nervous2:

my bet is that they will come out via PC without much problem. since they are not deep it is just a large amount of swirls. hopefully that is the case for you! :)

yeah, I figure about 3-5 coats of polish and they should clean up pretty well...hopefully...

thinking OHC twice, OC once, OP once, PS once....or maybe one OHC, two OC, etc....we'll see

HOLY SH**! I can't even imagine how you can get it that bad; or how ignorant you must be to wash your car with something like that.

i have no idea what to charge....thinking about just saying hey its going to take me all day to take care of this...so lets do it by the hour...i normally try to hit 30 an hour minimum, but closer to 40 is what I tend to pace my details at lately.

its a BLACK, MID SUV - i think its a highlander....my normal rates would be 210 for two steps polishing, and complete interior...but this is going to take about 4 coats I think to make it come out like I want it to. and I figure it would take about 7-9 hours, maybe! so i think that I would be safe to say 200-250 and leave it at that...its a new car, maybe 6 months old I think!

problem is its for an exgirlfriends dad...cant charge too much, but I dont want to work for the family discount price....lol

but they are a wealthy family with lots of wealthy contacts...maybe price low to hope to get future other business....

Toyotaguy: U-CAN-DO-IT! It's pretty scratched, but break out the rotary, some compound and glaze and let-r-rip.

I just finished a black BMW that was in similar condition:

Hours later (many hours as I wet sanded the bumper, hood and front fenders)

compounded (not glazed yet or polished)

finished the tuff stuff....no LSP (I ended up with a coat of Souveran)

Let us know how you do

You need to look at it this way: How much will it cost to repaint the car?? $2-3000 if not more. That job will take a few days to properly complete atleast. It needs to be wet-sanded to knock down/level the scratches, then compounded and then 3-4 steps of polishing/buffing/glazing/sealing. I'd charge atleast $750 and gaurantee that every scratch that can come out will come out. Nobody can or should do that heavy of repair for a couple hundred bucks. That's crack head prices to me. Beware of the people that will, because they'll make it worse. It's not how much you'll charge, it's how much you'll save.

yeah, but at the same time, its for an ex...lol

if it were some random person coming to me, then I would have them leave the car with me for 2 days so I could wetsand it, etc (the process you mentioned)...

My Jeep Cherokee looks very similar to these, as before I got it 2 years ago, it had never been waxed, garaged, or even clayed. Keep in mind its an 87, and red. Ive been teaching myself on it, but the PC hasnt been able to do a whole lot really. I may wet sand it and the use a rotary, even though ive never done so before. Gotta learn sometime I guess...
