Longevity of 1Z Glanz Wax

I am doing a couple of cars I KNOW won't get the kind of love and care they need. The one I most worry about is a Guards Red Porsche 968. Single Stage paint. Sun will fade it. I may get the guy to let me redo it every six months, but that would be pushing it.

I have had great luck with 1Z Glanz wax, but have no clue as to how long it will last. I know my car always is beading, but I am constantly playing with it, putting a layer of S100 on, or Metallic, or even another Glanz.

I also have Klasse SG, so I am wondering will it last longer? I won't have the car long enough to put 2 or 3 layers on, I only have it for the day to do.

Any experience on how long Glanz really lasts? I've used it on a weekend toy that rarely gets driven, a Jag XK convertible, and it lasted a long time, but that car never saw the road.

I look forward to any advice. I plan on posting my results in a week or so when I actually do the work.

I used 1Z GW on my girlfriends car which sits outside 24/7. It seemed to last a good 3-4 months with no problems, washed about once a month with no other maintenance.

If you had the time, I'd say that 3 layers of SG would last a bit longer (I get 5-6 months on my car, but it's garaged), but since you only have it for a day, I'd say go with the 1Z.

Okay, since we have a GW thread I'll post a follow-up question.

My 1Z dealer told me the surface _has_ to be waxed before applying GW (he referred to Metallic PolishWax). That is contrary to my knowledge on applying sealants before waxing.

Can I apply GW directly on top of a polished nonwaxed surface prepped with 1ZPP?

I know it bonds to #80 because it leaves a polymer "sealed" finish, but on what other polishes does GW bond to? How do I know if it bonds or not when applying?

If I prep a SS-finish with PP and #9 or #7, can I apply GW directly on top of that?

Thanks,

Silli

 I haven't used GW, but I was under the impression that you couldn't really use it "over" anything because of how strong its solvents are...

From my experience, due to it's high solvent content, 1Z GW will remove most (if not all) of any layers you may have already laid down with the exception of the most durable sealants (as noted by 4DSC). GW has a high solvent content that I would suspect that "waxing" before GW is not required, though getting the surface prepped beforehand would be preferred.
