Longest Lasting OTC Wax/Sealant

as others mentioned... collinite or duragloss would be good options. no complaints about DG105 (what she is currently wearing at the moment) or any DG products for that matter...

Don't forget Collinite 915. It's a tad less durable than 476, but looks better and is a little easier to remove. I just put on a layer on my Subaru an hour ago.

Ahhh LSP, for me, the best part of detailing!

I just wanted to let everyone know I checked carquest for the collinite and they didn't have it. They did say I could probably find it at arnold's motor supply but I didn't want to go to a town that has one. I ended up going to napa and having them order me a thing of duragloss 111 which will be in tomorrow and only costs 10 dollars. :)

Thanks everyone.

3m performance finish if you can still find it.. beads insanley long.. did a comparison last year and it outlasted collinite 845, 476, and the klasse twins. crazy durable stuff.. its a shame they have pretty much taken it off the shelves :-/

Colli 476 is the longest lasting OTC wax/sealant I have seen yet by a considerable margin. Even on non prepped surfaces that are simply cleaned and waxed, this stuff is difficult to completely strip even after 6 months and repeated washings..

I will be the first to admit that I do a poor job of keeping up with waxing my car. Frankly I hate doing it but I realize the importance of having the protection especially now that I'm moving and my car will be sitting outside. My question to you guys is what is the longest lasting sealant (or wax) I can get at your average parts store? I don't care about how it looks but it has to last a long time and it can't be something fancy only found online or in the big city.

I've got this post going on AGO. This vehicle is my own '08 Mazda 3s Hatchback. I've done an ONR, Clay, Carnauba Wax (DP Max Wax) and Opti-Seal. Here is the catch I did. I did the driver side with the Max Wax followed by Opti-Sea;. The passenger side, I did the Opti-Seal followed by the Max Wax. At this time, it's been a month since I've posted it.

At this time, I'm loving how long its lasted and how the paint feels on the Mazda. :bigups

Wait, now to be fair NXT can have several month durability as long as the car isn't washed or doesn't see any heavy rain.

STupid question--what do you guys apply the Collinite with? any particular pad? or can i just go to pepboys or something and use a MF pad or something like that?

Personally I think the foam applicator pads work best for applying polishes and waxes. MF pads will work also but i tend to believe they soak up a bit too much of the product when applying, so you might moisten the MF if you use them.
