Locking myself in the garage today!

As soon as I get off of work at 11:00 I have a few errands to run and then I am locking my self in my garage, cranking the oldies station, and not coming out until my car is 100% ready for the road! I have to finish polishing it (will take the longest), get the summer tires and wheels on, clean the engine and wheel wells and interior, couple coats of EX and Natty's, get the tail lights back in and I should be good to roll.

Tomorrow I was planning on taking it out but with this beautiful  Michigan weather it is 50 and sunny today and supposed to be high of 40 and some flurrys tomorrow so looks like it stays in the garage.

Rama-lama-ding-dong !

Send some of that weather my way, will you? Crumby weather here in NJ for the past week.

Oldies music, now that's the only way to detail your car!

DooWop forever !!!

I will get pics up most likely next weekend. I got the SSR2 all done and then went over the car with some Polish with Carnuba and now have a coat of EX on it. I think I want to get a few coats of EX on it an then some Natty's.

I ended up getting my front wheels back on and cleaned my wheelwells. I used some citrus cleaner and then finished with Poorboy's Natural Look. Now all I have to do is the rear wheels, engine, and interior which won't take very long.

Oldies is the only way to go! I love DooWop and Motown!

Remember the song "Romeo and Juliet"? By the Reflections? I went to some fights Friday night and the table next to us was the Reflections! I said to my cousin, "I think those guys are the Reflections." He had no idea what I was talking about do to the crap music he listens to but then the ring announcer anounced that the Reflections where in the house that night. :D Very cool! Oh, a little more off topic, but I got to see them in person and got them all to autograph my CD two years ago at a cruise event. :D

2001civicex. ... Sure do remember the reflections. Great story!

I remember way back in '74 I was in St Louis ( if my memory serves me. Lately it hasn't !) I was in line at a Big Boys and who was in front of me but none other than Chuck Berry!!! Very cool!!

Keep up the good work on your detailing !

Russ

Thanks Russ! I LOVE Chuck Berry! I have two movie suggestions for you if you have not seen them yet. "One, Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" about the Funk Brothers best movie ever! The second is "American Hotwax" about the life of Alan Freed. It is old and very hard to find. I had to grab a copy off Ebay. I also listen to www.wpon.com a lot while at work cause I can only pic it up via the net and not the radio.

Here are the results of oldies and detailing this week :D

You did not get to see the work bench. ;)

I did see it! That's why I posted! Look at the pic of the front of the car...workbench clearly visible. ;) Nice job Bud. The car looks like you locked yourself in the garage and worked all weekend...beautiful.

Schweeet!!! Looking great...especially the pipes, 2001civicex. Thanks for posting the pics :bigups

Don't listen to JimS. By my standards, you're a rank amatuer at "messy garage" :lolol

haha, thanks guys! I would say that my garage is usually not that messy but that last until I take on another project and it goes right back to messy again! :lol

:lol I just added two of those fluorescents last week. My front cornres were too dark ;)
