GOT PREP?
I was in Kmart the other day because they are the only place that has the NXT wash(I was out). While in the car care aisle I looked up to the top shelf and saw a product that looked interesting, it is called "Pro tec no rinse wash." I saw only one bottle and no price, but I figuerd why not.

I took it home and gave it a shot last night, not bad, not bad at all. It has the same cool tingly feeling of QEW, dillutes the same, but smells much better IMO(not that it matters, but....). The few small differences that I see so far are that the pro tec is stronger than QEW, it will not strip wax, but is definitely more harsh on it. Pro tec does not leave the surface as slick as QEW, maybe no wax. :dunno You have to do smaller sections with the pro tec because it evaporates a little bit faster.

When I was finished last night I was afraid that I had perhaps marred the finish a little. I trust QEW, but with this being my first time with Pro tec I was a bit concerned. Today when I pulled the car into direct sunlight everything looked great, no marring at all.

I have no idea if this is available at your Kmart, but you should give it a shot if you can. It is no replacement for QEW, but if you don't have time to order or are in a bind the pro tec works great. I paid $1.99 for a quart, but that was only becasue the checker was too lazy to look up the price. I have no idea as to what the actual retail price is. I tried to look on the company's website for additional info, but did not see the product. The website on the back is www.camco.net.

Here is a pic

Interesting. Thats pretty cheap. QEW is really unique. There are tons of waterless washes out on the market, but S&W has kept my trust.

Tell us how it performs down the road

I think this is their site:
http://www.protecproducts.com/products.html

But no mention there?

Try a search on google, but its weird how many names pop up :ticked

I agree S&W is a fantastic product that really changed the way I care for my cars, but the QEW can handle a bit more dirt IMO and on my paint.

I tried to google the name several different ways to no avail....

Very interesting and thanks very much for the report :bigups

I was sure there had to be something out there in the RV product world to compete with QEW.

Interesting find.

Woob,
Different company, but a good find. Yet another another chemical company. By the way the you found is out of Texas.

EBPcivicsi,
Have you tried this product? If so, what are your thoughts and opinions?

Eric

Just the one time that I tried it when I wrote this post. It is not bad, but it is no QEW. I would use it if I couldn't get QEW and didn't want to buy over the internet.
