Liquid Ebony?

Any of you old timers out there use the Liquid Ebony polish/glaze. My dad's automotive shop was next door to a detailer and he used this stuff all the time. He also had a wax he used that was pink and I think it had a name like Grantiz or something. This would of been in the 70's. Okay, so I just dated myself. Just curious if these products are still around and what they are like in comparison to todays products.:D

I used Liquid ebony about 26 years ago on all black cars by hand. Filled in all the swirls. Never even contemplated polishing a car back then. Today the closest things are Poorboys black hole for dark cars and Poorboys white diamonds for lighter clored cars. i have a Black M35X and a White MDX. These products are great for maintaining the car once the mico marring begins to surface feom being DD and before I get a whole day to polish.

I am lost on the Pink Wax.?

You mention The Treatment. The original treatment was a jelly type was that at one time was called Slax Super X and was made in Dolton Illinois. The man that made it died and his wife sold the formular to the treatment company. It was very good at hideing swirls , as a matter of fact it was the best in the mid 1960s. Another company tried to copy the formular, but didnt get it right . This company was called NuLook. They were in the south side of Chicago. Thats the end of the small history lesson.

This is a blast from the past. I also have about 1/2 bottle sitting on the back of my shelf collecting dust. I was doing some cleaning last week and came across it. I almost forgot about it. I agree that it does a nice job, but indeed there are much better products available today. It is nice to see that I am not the only one who still has the "raindrop" marked bottles sitting on their shelves..lol
