Linux

Having used Unix or Linux for the better part of 15 years I cannot speak highly enough about FreeBSD. It's core developers are a pretty static group of folks which leads to consistency through updates. This is one part that Linux has never had much in the way of.



I will say that Fedora Core and Ubuntu have been pretty impressive the last few releases but there's just something about the FreeBSD ports system that I keep coming back to. I know that Gentoo Linux has a very similar system but it's overly complex in comparison to FreeBSD's.
